I purchased a six pack of the XS01-WR interconnected smoke detectors in May of 2021. Installation was easy and they all work beautifully together as they should. They also look very stylish due to their small size and smart design. All was well until just the other night, early July 2024, when everyone was awaken with all six detectors sounding their alarms. Thankfully there was no fire and I quickly turned them off with the RC01 Remote Control I purchased separately. We went back to bed and 30 minutes later we were awaken again with the sound of the smoke detectors. Luckily with the use of the remote when you silence the alarms they all go silent except the unit that first detected the problem. One has to press the remote a second time to silence that last alarm. The alarms are designed that way to help one pinpoint the exact source of the problem. Come to find out the unit that first detected the potential problem became defective because the alarm kept sounding.The next day I emailed service@x-sense.com with a warranty claim. Warranty was 5 years but because I registered the product I got an additional 2 years for a total of 7 years. Considering smoke detectors should be replaced after 10 years of use that's a mighty good warranty. I included a small video showing them the problem with the unit as well as my order number which was easy to obtain from the invoice located in my past Amazon purchases. I received a response that same day indicating they would replace it and there would be no need to return the defective unit. I received another email couple hours later saying the replacement was shipped and I would receive it the next day. Well I did receive it the next day and now all six unit are working again as they should. You read so much about how some companies are not only difficult to contact with a warranty problem but are also non-responsive. In my case I can confidently say that is not the case with X-Sense. I like their product and I really appreciate how they back up their product with quick action. Thank you X-Sense!

My brother is a fire fighter, and I first showed him a different model with a 10 year battery. He told me to make sure that I could remove the battery to shut if off if I needed to. He's been to sites where people smash their smoke detectors to shut them up. Ha ha!These had removable batteries, and replacements are cheaper than 12 volt batteries, so I bought them instead.The smoke detectors automatically connect to each other, so if one goes off they all go off, alerting the entire house. When I burned the steak, everyone in my two story house knew.

When folks come into my shop and see these they are amazed. Simple as can be, but effective. These are tiny compared to what I was used to, but they sure are loud. Easy to mount and no maintenance required.

Good but not 10 year. I’m replacing another set I got around 5 years ago. But they’re small, non descript, and sensitive to smoke, and not too expensive.

This smoke detector is small and has a very nice design plus it has a 10 years battery life.great price for this unit

I knew these were smaller than the old ones we had, but I did not realize just how much smaller! They are itty bitty! But they work! AND the fact that they all talk to each other is a huge bonus since re-wiring an existing home to hard-wire interconnected units together is just not a simple task. So this was a big reason that we purchased a set like this. Definitely recommend!

**WILL UPDATE IF ANYTHING CHANGES**Ok, let's start with the positives. (Skip to the bottom for a short summary)- very small and compact • the design does not bring attention to it and takes up minimal space they look "cute" as the girlfriend would put it.- lightweight, easy to install • when installing into drywall its recommended to use the anchors but I didn't find it necessary because of how light they are. Just 2 easy screws!- functionality • Very loud! Which is awsome, louder than my old system for sure.- affordable • for the price you can't beat all of the positives come together for a beautifully designed productThe negatives (oh boy)1. It seems to me that they make these and let them sit on untill they are sold, and may not test them before they send them out to the consumer (you). While the ones that work work great i ordered the 6 pack. 3 of them seem awsome and I have not had to use them, knock on wood (metaphorically), the other 3 not so much. 2 sound like they are already on the cusp of dying and you have to click the button repeatedly for the test function to work which makes me nervous if they will work in a real situation. And last but not least the final smoke detector is functional but the speaker sounds blown. Not ideal for something that is designed to wake you up in your sleep.2. Customer service. I contacted the company directly via email to let them know of these issues giving them my name and order number so they would have no issues looking up that i was a verified buyer. Anyways I contacted them on Thursday I have yet to hear a response (2 buisness days) its now Sunday with no response 4 days total. That being said if I do hear back from them and they offer a solution I will update my rating untill then it seems ive got the buy 6 get 3 working deal. And I'm not comfortable with that!3. best fire alarms for any building that has no wiring in the walls. I'd even say it's the best even if you have wiring in the walls. love ease of connectivity
