This was the perfect replacement pump. The dual setting for high and low works great. It’s so quiet that I have to check the pool to make sure it’s running. Super easy to install, I installed it with my son. The pump is as powerful as my old high end brand. The package included all the fittings needed.

Extremely unreliable motor. This is the third pump I've installed in three years - so far, based on my statistics, the life expectancy is about one year (12 months +/- 1 month). The operating temperature is about 180-195°F.Runs quietly, but performance is low. And it is very hot.Manufacturer does not support the warranty. Requires proof of professional installation. I am an experienced technician, and can perfectly well connect those 4 wires myself - 220V and ground, and screw inlet and outlet fitting - and I change this myself. However, self installation voids the warranty.Yuck.I installed the last motor a few weeks ago, installing with a rain cover - we'll see how long the motor lasts covered.By the way, I bought the last pump from amazon "used" and at a very decent discount. However, I received a brand new pump - obviously the previous buyer had not even taken it out of the box and returned it immediately.Nowadays, the cost of replacing a pump costs more than the pump itself, so even though it's extremely unreliable, I'm willing to replace it every year. And that not to change the fitting will continue to order this crap. Maybe at some point they will learn to make them a little better? )To summarize: based on my experience I do not recommend buying this at all.TBC.

My first unit came and when installed wouldn't run - Amazon replaced it the next day and I used Kohl's to send back the old unit.Very easy install - I had to cut and replace a bunch of pipes as this was a different size to the old pump, but the machine itself was easy to install. The two pipe connections to the pump are hand tightened so the unit should be easy to take out for future service needs. This unit does require 240v (2 live wires at 120v each) - my old unit was 240v so this was OK but please check before you order! In addition to 2 lives there is 1 ground that goes to the electric panel and a second ground on the outside of the unit that I connected to a ground rod.The unit is quiet. It is almost inaudible at low speed, at high speed it's a little louder but still much quieter than my old unit. BTW another review mentions that the low speed will not move your pool cleaner and I can confirm this - you have to use the high speed setting to use a pool cleaner.

Wait after it ran for 3 weeks :Pros:1) Pre-wired. It's easy to connect just carefully follow instructions.2) Very quiet , have to stand next to it to hear the noise.3) Very good price compare to other brand names.4) I have a 2 hp , enough for a 20000 gal pool and solar heat on the roof.Cons:1) 2 speeds : the low is useless (too weak) have to always set to high2) Size and shape are different from my old Pentair . Have to re-pipe on both water in and out. It takes times.3) I think it's less power than my old one (just barely handle the job)If It last 4 years then I am happy.

Pump Worked flawlessly for 3 years, then it started making noise. Yep the bearings and brushes! I only paid $200 for it, so just bought another one. At that price I can purchase 4 of them and get 12 years for $800 instead of paying $1000 for a sta-rite or pentair and only get 5 years tops! Easy decision! Just makes economical sense! This time I will make a cover for the motor, to deter the elements, maybe I'll get another year out of it!

I first bought this pump in 2020, and it lasted about 1.5 years before failing. Although I was a little disappointed in how long this lasted, I did not have years of experience with pool pumps. I run my pump about 6-8 hours per day. I replaced this pump with the exact model in 2022. It lasted only 4 months this time before it started to leak profusely. I looked up the common issue for pumps leaking, and I ordered a part directly from the company (since Amazon doesn't carry it). The part was $19.99 with free shipping. It took 9 days to get. I found the manual on the company's website, but the drawings are for much older versions. This has a screwdriver slot to keep the shaft from spinning when you remove the impeller. But the slot depth is insufficient, so there was not way to remove the impeller to replace the part. So I took out my Dremel tool and cut the vent grid out and used pliers to hold the shaft from rotating. This allowed me to repair the pump, and it's been working properly (without leaks) for about a month now. If it fails again soon I will update my review. I do want to say that the lower pump speed setting is not very useful -- too slow unless maybe you have a tiny pool. The upper speed, however, is better than the pump I had installed pre-2020. At that speed, it will work well for even large pools (20,000+ gallons). I would give this a higher rating if they were to change the design to use a socket head shaft end. This would allow you to repair it and to test if it has seized.

Update: Purchased this pump back in MAR 2020 - I have been running the Xtreme Power 2 HP Pump for over a year and it was easy to install and ran very quiet. That is the only good I can say about this pump. This pump is SO WEAK, No Way is it 2 HP! The pump I replaced was a 1.5 HP StaRite Maxiflo and it moved twice as much water. After installation it was so weak it could not run my automatic pool cleaner and my pool heater would not run because of the minimal water flow. Had to go old school with a hose and hand vacuum the bottom of pool and it could barely suck up a leaf. My pool stayed dirty and nobody wanted to swim in it. Don't waste your money on this Chinese piece of crap! Invest in a quality pump so you will don't get burned like me. I bought a new AO Smith 2 HP Motor and a StaRite MaxiFlo rebuild kit and installed it on the old StaRite pump housing and my pool is sparkling clear. My fault for going the cheap route. Anyone need a boat anchor? Don't Buy This Product!
