I have 6K gallon Bestway I bought from Costco. Backyard doesn’t get enough sun for the solar mat and it takes up a lot of real estate I’m already short on. Took a chance on this heater based on one review and so far I couldn’t have asked for better results. I know it says max 4K gallons but I figured I was ok if it took an extra few days to do it’s job. I filled the pool up on July 2nd. Filter arrived the 3rd and by the time everyone I arrived on the 4th the water was warm enough that I didn’t hear any of the kids complain. 2 days later the water was a comfortable 80 degrees and by the end of the first week I had to turn it off because it was getting close to bath water. My kids love it. I don’t even have to bother putting on the solar cover every night. Still waiting for the first light bill to see about power consumption but honestly for me it’s worth it. Great product so far.

The XtremePower Heat Pump is garbage . After hooking it up , noticed the output flow to the pool is alot weaker . Meaning you will have to install diverter valves to separate Heater from the filtered water because alot of Restriction in the heater coils. Secondly , My unit was received missing the manual . Third My Xtremepower heat pump ran for 3 weeks and started leaking water . A week after that the Unit stopped working . Less than a year old , and outside of any standard warranty .It's Cheap , but do yourself a favor , don't buy this Heater . Purchase a more expensive better made Unit

Update*****So I am revising this review now that summer is drawing down. Sadly, this little guy cannot keep up AT ALL. With temps in the low 70s, my pool temperature actually DROPS overnight. In the daytime, it takes all day long to tick up maybe 1 or 2 degrees. I'm not sure whether I overestimated its ability initially or perhaps it's just more efficient when it's warmer (i.e. NOT when I need it lol). Maybe it'd be ok for a much smaller pool but I am currently shopping for something larger to replace this.*****I have some minor nits about this heater, but it's small, quiet and it does work. Our water is in the low 80s already but I can feel significantly warmer water outputting from this pump. I haven't run this outside of daytime hours, but I did note that it heats up quite a bit faster than only via sunlight -- the two combined can get the water 5 degrees warmer in a few hours. The BTU rating seems accurate, i.e I think that this pump alone will be able to heat up our 4500 gallons ~.5 degree/hour or ~10 degrees/24 hours, which is good enough for me. I like that it also tells you the current water temperature, and I've tested the thermostat auto on/off as well. Seems all fine there. I saw another review talking about needing to hook up the power cord to the unit, but that was not my experience. It was just plug into the wall and go.The bad stuff: I could not attach my 1.5" Intex hoses to the hookups. I had to order Intex 29061E Type B fittings, clamp them to the heater's fittings and then I could screw on my hoses. The other bad thing about the heater's fittings is that they are bit finicky -- if you tighten them down too hard, it causes the rubber gaskets to deform and leak. Have had this issue a few times changing out hoses, but once everything is in and it's in set-it-and-forget-it mode, I don't see it as a problem. Like other reviews said, this heater adds significant head to the water pump and really cuts down on the skimmer's effectiveness. I ended up upgrading to a bigger pump, which was on my list anyway, but this put it over the top. All fine now.And then finally the instructions are not good or comprehensive. I do not know what is the difference between PV (Practical Value) and CV, the definition of which is not defined, but I assume is Current Value. I believe PV is the current water temperature compared to SV (Set Value, i.e. the water temp you want to heat to). CV seems a little all over the place. I am going to email support and see if I can get more detail. I have also found myself in other undocumented settings, which I have no idea what they are or what they do, and I'm worried I may have inadvertently changed something. Overall basic function seems unaffected so far as I can tell. This does require the pump to run in order to circulate, so you should have both the heater and the pump on a timer to ensure that they are running together.

So far it was impressive. We have a 4,000 gallon pool (14ft round and 4ft deep). I had it running for about a week when the temps were high 70s to low 80s. It got the water to 92. It's been hot so the heater has been off so hopefully it'll continue to impress me when I turn it back on. If something does happen hopefully I rememeber to update this.

Haven’t been able to get it to run, it has an error code and can’t get through to customer service. I will provide an update if anyone responds.Update - we got through and were told to return to the seller not the manufacturer - the heater started working after a couple of weeks so we held onto it. It ran well for 1 month and is no longer working. All returns all limited to 30 days so we will not be able to return this. I will not order an item this expensive again from Amazon. Even the protection plan was of no help.

Had it running for 2 months had the pool up to 92, obviously had so good warm days in Chicago. Had a small issue with it throwing a E03 code. Easy fix, opened it up and re seated the coms wires into the system board. Pool dropped to 80 during the time of non operation but after 1 hour is already back up to 82. Might not be the top of the line product but it is a great cost for performance in my book.

So far it's working great. Don't have to wait all day for decent temp. Thermostat is working super. Glad I decided to get it.

I purchased this heater to us it with my Coleman Rectangular Steel Frame Swimming Pool . The hose in and out terminals of the heater are not compatible with the filter hose size ( heater terminal smaller than filter hose ) . After getting 3 local Professional pool suppliers , the conclusion was that even if I could get adapters to narrow the filter hose, the water flow would be affected if it wouldn't work properly .I Contacted the seller and the they seller approved the return but the seller refuse to pay ( approximately $300.00) for the return shipping ( my amazon prime membership should cover ) . After multiple attempts , all claims were decline and I lost the money because the heater is totally useless for me . Don't buy this , and stay away from this seller .
