Detailed Usage Below:
1.Set spindle into geared base by aligning notches. While holding geared base, turn spindle clockwise to secure.
2.Clamp the ball winder to table or other support using integral clamp, clamp will work on thickness up to 1.5''. Clamp is controlled by turning red knob.
3.Rotate yarn guide so loop end faces upward. Pull it out as far as it will go.
4.Yarn to be wound should be supported on a swift to allow uniform transfer. Feed end of yarn through yarn guide and secure in notch on top of spindle. Yarn is easily placed through guide by simple wrapping it, in a clockwise direction, around the end coil.
5.Turn handle clockwise, forming the yarn into a ball. Finished ball can be withdrawn from winder by simply pulling off from underside of ball. Yarn from ball can be used by withdrawing from center core or from outer edge.

Honestly, I love it. I find myself winding up my yarn more often than I should. Something about it is therapeutic. It's easy to use, although sometimes the yarn arm flops down. Can be a bit fiddly to tighten, but barely. Would definitely buy again just for the winder! The scissors that come with it are kinda dull, but it does the job well enough, just keep your yarn tight to decrease the fraying.

seems a little cheaply made, but it gets the job done with minimal effort. haven’t had any problems with it. the scissors are dull and a little squeaky, so i don’t use them. haven’t tested the pompom things yet but they’re pretty simple, and come with clear instructions

Once I saw someone else use the product I was less intimidated with using the yarn winder. I really like the device and know I'll use it frequently.

Worked okay. Metal arm won’t stay upright, spindle is too short to handle a full skein of yarn, had to do almost half the skein by hand, which defeats the purpose, but saved some time at least I guess!

Bought this item based on the good reviews. Not sure what everyone else got but mine was junk! The yard guide wouldn't snap out and hold it's position and kept falling over. The completed ball looked great until I tried using one. In use I keep having a problem with it knotting up and having to deal with that. I followed the instructions and still had problems. Didn't need the pompom makers or the scissors just considered them free items. All of them are going back!

This yarn winder is very cheaply made. (ya get what ya pay for, right??) I was under the impression that it would work on thicknesses up to 1 and a half inches tall. It doesn't. the paperwork that came with it, says the clamp will work on thicknesses up to 1.4". the yarn guide does NOT lock in place and keeps falling down. this doesn't help me at all to get my yarn caked up and put away. I wouldn't buy again from this seller. I should have listened to the 1 and 2 star reviews.

Everything in pack, product seems fine only the spindle has a crack in it as per photos. Still works but could get worse after use. Will have to see if it lasts.
