The inverter stopped working after 1 week. The same problem continued to occur after replacing the inverter. why?

The DC input voltage is wrong. Too high/too low voltage damages the inverter. For example: DC10.8-30V version, you will think that 10.8-30V will make the inverter work. So ignore the voltage required by our instructions (Solar Panel Voltage: Vmp18-21V; Voc20-24V)

10.8V/30V is not the working voltage? Why should the advertisement display DC10.8-30V?

Y&H grid tie inverter is designed for solar panels. The working voltage of solar panels depends on the intensity of sunlight, which means that the panel voltage varies. There is also an increase in the voltage at the moment the solar panel starts.

When you use a 12V solar panel, the working voltage of the panel is 18V-21V. But the moment of starting is to reach 24V or higher. We design 30V to buffer the instantaneous voltage at startup.

When the sun is weak. The panel voltage drops from 18V to 17V, 16V, 15V... 10.8V. We design compatible wide voltage input in order to obtain more power output. Of course, as the panel voltage decreases, the inverter output efficiency will decrease.

Put another way. DC10.8-30V input, the actual starting voltage is 15.5V. After starting. The lowest tracking voltage can reach 10.8V. This is the additional power obtained. Can be ignored. The main power acquisition is that the panel voltage is 18V-21V (when the sun is strong)

I have used this Grid Tie Inverter for just over one year with a 24VDC battery bank to offset grid power usage during high-cost electricity times (4pm-9pm in my area). The inverter stopped working yesterday, so I checked the fuses and all three 30A fuses were blown. I replaced the fuses, reconnected everything, and turned the inverter back on. There was a loud "pop" and sparks flew out of the inverter through the fan shroud. I'm glad I was standing right there to quickly disconnect the 24VDC power before things got worse. I think this is a great idea, but a poorly executed design. Certainly not worth the risk of catching the house on fire.

I got this just to play with a 100w 12v solar panel I bought to take camping and figured why let the solar panel sit 90% of the time? So I bought this GTI. Since then, I have upgraded to 2 solar panels (Rich Solar - https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07DPHY2YJ/?coliid=I27A31NPTEGY76&colid=33U0EES65JEM1&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it) in parallel running to this inverter and am planning to add 4 more panels.I have this running through a Kill A Watt (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00009MDBU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and in full sun, I have seen it pushing 157 watts back into the house grid. This was the first of November running them through about 10meters of 10 gauge wire and connected directly to the GTI using the o-rings crimped on the cables that came with this inverter.I got this set up the middle of October, so we have not had many sunny days as I live in the suburbs of Seattle, but when there is a full day of sun, I have seen a couple days were I was able to get 0.72 kWh or 720 Watt hours pushed back into my house grid. Not going to eliminate my reliance on the utility company, but for $320 total setup cost, it will only take about 2 years to pay it back.Something I noticed, when I first hooked this up, I only had a single 100w 12v panel, and any time there were clouds, it would drop the voltage low enough that the inverter would stop working. Since adding the second panel, I have not seen that happen. There have been times I have seen 10 watts being pushed through the Kill A Watt on a cloudy day.Definitely something I would buy again!

I have never seen more that 300W out with 4 100W panels but I know there are losses and it's not Summer here yet but it does get pretty warm at 250W output. I placed a folder on top of it to see if the fan or fans turned on at 250W and it took about 3 minutes to kick on but the body of it stayed just warm to the touch. No chance of getting burnt at these power levels. I have changed my panel locations and hope for more KWh. I have them pointed toward the south now which seems to be the best gap in the neighbors trees that block me. I am on moving them about 75 ft farther to get sun virtually all day where I usually do my garden, once I see if it's worth the effort if the neighbors don't complain. If that doesn't work it's roof mount next. A penny saved is a penny earned.

Most of the comments in feedback regarding the unit getting very hot, YES, Because the cooling fan in these units is a known issue. I have had 1 of the 600w units and 2 of the 1000w units and in every single unit the fan died after a few months. Replacing it with a fan that has bearings makes the difference and will keep the unit going. No the chasse should NOT reach 200f. its should always be cool to the touch. Loud fan noise means its on its way out and is not cooling like it should be.

I pluged it in with 4 100w panels and it works. amazing, so easy.I pluged a heater into a 3 outlet strip that was bluged into a belkin meter and the heater was using 564 watts on med. I pluged the Inverter into the same strip, connected the solar panels, turned on the Inverter. The watts coming from the utility dropped 222watts. The sun was 40 deg to the panels so thats why the watts were low. I estimate 300watts net if the sun was directly over head.

Great Inverter and easy to setup. Works Great and within the budget to product power from you SOLAR and/or WIND Turbines. Setup in Summer 2022 and Still working great as of 1/12/2023. Missouri Wind and Solar 2KW Wind Turbine charges batteries and Y&H Inverter converts DC (24V) to AC. Nice!!!BTW.. Y&H provides great support for questions and setup. I asked them for setup info on this on their Y&H higher end KW inverter (120/240) and they came back with 24 hours with HELP. Terrific support.

Used with 24V 200 Ah LiFePO4 battery system. Worked well for 8 months, but then it stopped working and I smelled a burning electronics smell. Will see if warranty covers it. Not the most efficient, round trip efficiency of 65% when you include the energy it takes to charge my batteries, the inverter itself is about 75% efficient. Using for time shifting peak demand offset 5 hours per day. Also if the fan is on when you power it off, the fan keeps running, which is unfortunate. So I have to program it to come back on again for 1 minute after a 20 minute waiting period when I'm done for the day, otherwise the fans will keep running off the 24V batteries even though the unit is no longer connected to the grid. Definitely much less expensive than any other grid tied inverter that I have found, and company has been responsive to support questions, so we will see if another unit will last longer.Update - 2nd unit lasted about as long as the first. Less than a year. Cannot recommend this, unfortunately.

These are true performers. First one I bought was in 2018 and it is still going strong. Paid for itself plus the 4 100 watt panels in electric bill savings in less than 6 month. I’ve since bought a few more and have turned my friends on them too. No failures to date.
