It worked perfectly. I’ve only used it once but I suspect from other reviewers it will continue to give me good service. When you put the handheld unit into the cradle it automatically cools down and then turns off the heating element and blower.I used it to remove a surface mounted 2sc1972 transistor and it took about five or 10 seconds and it was done with zero damage. If you use something other than a hot air Rework unit you would definitely risk printed circuit board damage. It has three presets which are actually pre-programmed for the three most useful heat settings which I would’ve programmed anyway so that was perfect. The beauty of this is I was able to heat all three tabs of the transistor simultaneously. The instructions were also actually good.It came with 4 nozzles two tweezers and a wire device for removing more sensitive surface mount components.I’m very satisfied with the build quality and I look forward to using this for many years… If any issues come up I will update my review but for right now I couldn’t be happier.

I will admit that this is my first hot air solder tool. For all my adult life I have gotten by with low wattage fine tip pencil irons to build and repair electronics. However there is no getting around the fact that a pencil iron is like a sledge hammer used to set a thumbtack when it comes to the incredibly small and densely packed SMT solder pads and parts these days. And forget removing a high density IC, especially those with heat transfer pads on the back. This gun, with the help of a couple helpful youtube videos on technique has allowed me to to build and repair PCBs that I would not even try before I had it.The build quality is first rate. The feel of the tool in hand is excellent. The range of temperature and air volume control offered seems right for my needs. It heats up quickly, and both the heat and air volume capability is well beyond anything I am currently needing to remove even the largest LSI. The wand stays cool in hand and the selection of air tips lets me control how concentrated I want the heat, depending on the size of the part. Having the option of saving 3 temp profiles is very handy when moving between part sizes and/or solder melt temps.I practiced removing large chips, small chips and individual small components using the PCBs from a couple dead HDD. I also used them to re-prep pads and install these parts. I was quickly able to dial in the temp and air settings to easily remove, clean and install all the parts without lifting or damaging solder pads, although I would bet most of parts I removed are overbaked at this point because of the time I spent heating and reheating them...I am delighted with this purchase. I have found myself taking parts off dead PCB's just for fun (and more practice).

I bought this to help repair HDMI ports. This station is good for it's price, but it does draw a lot of amps while being used, so use it on a dedicated circuit in your house.

Works extremely well, heats up pretty fast, does use a little bit of power as when its initially heating up my bedroom light does kind of dim but that could just be the old wiring. I've seen a few reviews of the unit catching fire from leaving it on and just having the wand sit in the cradle, have yet to have any issue like that at least with mine as I turn it off when I'm done using it and its always gone to sleep mode when I put it in the cradle.

This is a nice product. Easy heat control heats up very quickly. I also like the inertia switch head shut the power down when I hang it back up on it stand but then quickly heats back up when I grab it. Super easy to use.

After the safety related horror stories about miswired clones and failing shutoffs I decided to spend a few dollars more on the Yihua 959D hot air station. (I've also been very happy with their 939D+ soldering station). Unit had fuse and switch on the right power plug terminal, case was well grounded and temperature calibration was within 10 degrees F of my NIST traceable kitchen thermometer. And it had readable directions in English. Heat shuts off and wand cools down ONLY when placed in cradle. (Suspect a magnetic sensor, likely a reed switch). Should be reliable long term. Build quality seemed good on case and PC boards, had heat sinks on power regulators and internal cables were well done. Had no trouble swapping 20 pin QFN with ground plane thermal pad underneath. I think I've become a fan of these guys.Wish I'd bought the combo unit when I got the soldering iron! Who knew I'd be doing SMDs so soon!

Has lasted for over a year of near daily usage. It heats up quickly, the fan control works well and the stand by works well (come on in the cradle)The only thing I changed about it is adding a push button stand by/cool down switch to work along side the magnetic stand by in the cradle. I did this due to my wanting to mount it on a boom arm while retaining the stand by/cool down mode
