I installed this heater on my 2015 Mazda3 this fall, and I'm really glad I did. The biggest issue people seem to have with this heater is figuring out where to install it. I can't speak to the Ford pickups or other vehicles that this fits on, but on my Mazda it fits easily into the threaded plug high up on the rear of the engine. The correct plug is surrounded by a layer of orange sealant and is very easy to identify. Just look up the rear of the engine from underneath. You don't have to remove any brackets or pieces of the exhaust, etc. All you need is a 14mm hex bit socket and a ratchet that will reach up in there. I have a two-post lift in my shop, which makes installs like this much easier, but it could also be done with the car up on jack stands in the front from underneath on a creeper.I should have brought down the coolant level a bit by draining some of the coolant out the bottom of the radiator, but I just removed the threaded plug and quickly installed the heater into the leaking hole. i ended up losing maybe 2 cups of coolant, which I topped off with no issues. Routing the cord was easy and the overall install a snap!I use the Torque app and a OBDII bluetooth transmitter to check my engine temp at different times, because these new cars no longer have a temperature gauge, just red and blue over and under temp warnings. On a 15F degree morning last week, the car started at a temp of 110F right off the bat, and was fully up to temp (180F) in about 5 miles of driving on the flat. I would totally purchase and install one of these again.

Was very easy to install on my 2013 F250 6.2L flex fuel truck. Total time was about 15 minutes. I played Indiana Jones and the Golden skull and got the old threaded plug out and the new one in without losing more than a quart of coolant. I plug this in 1st thing when I get up in the morning if the temps are below 20 degrees F. After two hours I have hot air at the vents before I get to the end of my 300 ft. driveway. I don't idle my truck for more than 30 seconds before I start rolling. This is the factory block heater for this engine just the electrical cord is not the fancy one Ford uses. You'll need to add an extension cord to get it to the front of the truck. I zip tied the coiled cord behind the license plate bracket. Nice and neat.

Installed it into the drain plug on a 216B Cat Skid Steer. Works great! Takes longer the colder it is. After 2 hours at 15 degrees started with ease.

I bought this for a 2000 ford e350 van. Amazon said it was the right fit but when I took it to the mechanic he said it would not fit. Not sure if the fault lies with the manufacturer, Amazon, or the mechanic. All I know is I have a part that doesn't fit. As I had it for 6 months before installing and didn't have the packaging anymore I just swallowed my losses and threw it away.

I bought this for a 2004 Mazda 3 2.3L. The install was a pain in the ass, mostly because I couldn't find any information on where the port was. So that took some work. However, after locating it, installing this was a breeze. The threads come wrapped with a protectant/sealant, so there's no need for telfon tape or loctite. I use it on a timer, and so far, having it turn on one hour before driving has the engine warm in about five minutes(of driving, that is). If you're handy and you don't want to pay $350+ ton have your vehicle winterized, so far this seems like a good product.

It's short, making it a good fit for installations with limited space in my car. I looked up the installation manual using the product number, which stated that it was incompatible with my vehicle. However, it actually works and is listed as compatible in the manual.

Update, worked great for the winter of 2014. Only warning is if you are installing in a 2013 Ford Fusion 2.5L, it's real knuckle buster ;(
