Tired of those paper thin aluminum clips that bend the minute you touch them? Or wires that appear to be nice and thick only to find them to be 5 tiny strands of copper and all insulation whose only connection is a slight wrap around a screw? Yeah, me too. Well, these are nothing of the sort. These are well made and solid leads.I’ve been looking for something like this for a while but just didn’t want to spend the extra dough to get the quality I wanted. But some things, you are going to have to shell out a little more if you don’t want junk. But let me tell you, it is worth it here. They are soft, pliable, and the clips are solid. You can’t go wrong with these.

These are budget test leads. They are not SUPER cheap (at current prices), so the quality is important. They claim to have silicone insulation. I'm not sure if they do. They have that "tacky" feel of silicone, but they aren't super flexible, and if you make tight bends, they do kink and keep that shape. Yes, that's probably because of the core rather than the insulation: I'm somewhat concerned that the wire might be copper-clad aluminum, but to be fair I have not taken these apart to check, and I don't intend to. Just know they are nowhere near as flexible or kink free as high quality silicone test leads. The alligator clips themselves are pretty decent. They have fairly strong springs, grip well, and the insulation covers them pretty well. I tugged on both ends and nothing felt like it wanted to come loose, which sadly is often not the case with budget leads. These are nicely functional. It's not that I'm disappointed exactly. They aren't quite as nice in the hand as I was hoping, and they don't just fall flat onto the bench like high-end flexible silicone leads do, but they work well and I expect them to be reliable in the long term. They're not so nice that I want to show them off, but I do trust them to do their job and not fall apart.

These exceeded my expectations. The teeth of the alligator clips are properly aligned. The springs are fairly stiff. The rubber insulation is flexible enough that the metal parts stay covered as the jaws are opened and closed. The wires are marked as 14 AWG, rated for 600 V and 200 degrees C. They're not as flexible as professional grade test leads -- these try to retain the shape of prior bends -- but they're fine for general use.

Unfortunately, I noticed the item was defective even before I opened the packaging. It appears there was a poor solder joint between the black test lead and the alligator clip. The result being the test lead and alligator clip weren't even joined when the item was received.A replacement item has been ordered, will update the review once received.Update: Got the replacement set - much, much better. Being silicone, they are very flexible (unlike PVC insulation).Alligator clip alignment is good. One very nice feature is the ability to stack banana plugs (see updated photos).Back to 5 stars!

These are reasonable quality for the price. Should work with any test meter that uses banana plugs. The fully insulated alligator clips are better than those on some more expensive sets. I'd like them even more if there was a voltage rating on these test leads.

Tested these with a "Wanptek 3010" Bench Power Supply, and they did fantastic..The cover on the alligator clamps, are exactly what i needed because a lot of the time when I test Fans the clamps are within a "MM" of touching but these covers I don't have to worry about shorting out at 12v.-Cables are strong but not stiff, they are not slicone floppy but kinda in between.-Tested them up to 15v, and they never got hot, and stayed accurate in their reading.-These have a great value for the money.I fully support these, and suggest anyone buy them if they are in need of a good set of Banana, Alligator style cables.

Nice pair of red/black test leads with banana plug / alligator clip combination. The banana plugs have good tolerance and fit jacks firmly. The alligator clips are high quality with really nice teeth (that line up) and strong spring tension - some of the best I've come across. The wire is marked 14ga silicon - it seems decent. The rubber is a bit stiff (usually silicon is really floppy) and the overall thickness seems a tad bit on the thin side, but given the quality of the connectors, I'll give it the benefit of any doubt about the actual gauge of the wire inside - if they say 14ga, then I believe them. I had not problems at all using the leads - they connect/clamp really well and I did not detect any problems with resistance or overheating (with 4 amps of current flowing).

I do the fixing stuff and electronics as a hobby, so take my knowledge with a grain of salt. I'm too cheap to spring for the fluke so have no basis for comparison other than super cheap clips. These are far and away the nicest clips that I have. They work as expected, though the resistance reads at .1 ohm where I'd think it should be a bit lower, but again all my equipment is el cheapo. so could be the meter too. The wire is fairly flexible, the clips are stout, the boots are flexible and not too fiddly. In general, would buy again.
