Socket took the crank bolt off with my impact gun like nothing. It doesn't fit in the balancer tool. So you need a skinnier 19mm to torque the crank bolt down.

Bought this set to change my timing belt and water pump on Acura mdx.Socket will not fit in the tools hole as it’s too large. Kinda silly to pair these up if you ask me. Anyways.. was able to get that crank bolt off (without) this socket which could’ve helped since it’s so beefy, the crank bolt was on there tight rust welded. Had to use another 19mm impact socket, and 36†3/4†breaker bar to get off. Wonder if outcome would’ve been different if this socket fit.

We did a timing belt/water pump on a 2005 Honda Pilot V6 last year. We used my friend's tool and we needed a breaker bar with a 12-foot extension to pop the crankshaft bolt loose. He had the same experience with his 2006 Pilot V6 a couple years earlier.I bought this tool so I didn't have to bother my friend again. The socket was a nice bonus but didn't plan on using it. We did the timing belt on a 2003 Acura TL V6 with basically the same engine. I thought I'd try the socket for fun and then move on to the tool and breaker bar. No need to move on. Somehow, the energy transfer with the thick socket broke loose the crankshaft bolt with ease using a pneumatic impact wrench. I can't be certain the bolt wasn't more loose than the Pilot bolts, but it would surprise me.We used the socket and never needed the tool, but now I have both for the next time we do a timing belt and water pump on a Honda/Acura V6.

Socket larger than holding tool. Makes it worthless as a set. It's Ok, I guess, if you need one tool or the other only. Still, I expected a set to do a job, cannot complete job with "set" so 1 star. Super Tip bump trick, after breaking a ratchet and standard 18mm socket, bolt was out in seconds.SUPER TIP (at own risk): Use socket from "set" and long breaker bar on floor (so floor hold allows proper hold for thread direction for removal) then do Starter bump trickSTARTER BUMP TRICK: remove fuel pump fuse (very important so car does not actually start), with socket and breaker bar in place, tap ignition (turn key), will hear bumps (thud) if/when (hear) motor free spin release key, crank bolt will be loose.

The weighted socket did the job! The other tool was basically a bonus. It may help in re installation but I just used the weighted socket for all of it. My problem is solved. Thankyou for the socket.

I’ve heard the stories about Honda crank bolts but didn’t really believe it. I was having trouble getting the crank bolt off my 05 crv. Breaker bars and my 1/2†impact would not break it loose. I was holding the flex plate in place was a pry bar, but it kept slipping because of how tight the bolt was. Got this socket and it came off after 4 clunks from the impact. Didn’t even need to use the other piece it came with. Probably will for torquing it back to spec.

I bought this a few weeks ago and used it for the first time over the weekend to change the timing belt on our 2013 Honda Odyssey. I had to use a beefy Milwaukee impact, but impact socket zipped the bolt off after a minute. The other tool held the harmonic balancer in place no problem while I tightened the crank bolt to 48 ft-lbs + 60 degrees. You'll have to use your own 19mm, the impact isn't designed to work with the other tool.Overall, these were a great price and do the job. Probably won't need these again for a few years, but they worked great and I'm so happy I was able to get this done with the right tools instead of sending to the dealer.

With the help of a $99 high torque brushless 20V impact wrench(which couldn't do the job with a regular impact socket), this weighted socket was able to remove a stuck crank bolt that 600 pounds of manpower, a 6 foot breaker bar, and MAP gas could not budge! If you have a Honda you are working on, and your crank bolt isn't moving, you should buy this. It isn't going to come off with a cheaper corded impact wrench, but a brand new $99 20V brushless impact I bought from a widely available chain store(which wins torque tests on youtube) was able to get this job done! I am going to be able to return my $299 compressed air impact wrench. This purchase easily saved me $400.
