I know it’s not that hard but they could tell yo either in the package or on the Amazon site to let you know what size drill bit to use.

Bought this item for a cheap grill at a rented apartment....it was good for that application. Easy to install with a drill and a bit, found out quickly that it registered much hotter than the actual temp inside the grill....tested with an accurate device. At least now I know how much it's off and it does the trick.
