Was hiring guys to dig some holes and wondered how much a hold digger would cost. Well, my guys at twenty dollars an hour didn't make much money. What I figured was several hours was done in less than an hour. My neighbor offered to pay for half if he could borrow it....... Easy to use and worked great.

For me, this thing is a BEAST! Made sure the gas mix was right at 25:1, attached kill switch and filled it up! A friend had a vinyl fence to install in early January in eastern NC. I share that as our frost level is pretty shallow and we don’t get “that†cold so the ground wasn’t that bad. We do not have a lot of clay, a list of sand. It is farm country so soil quality is also good. These factors likely played a roll in performance. That said, here are my pros/cons:Pros:1. Comes with both a 6†& 8†auger about 25†overall for each.2. Comes with 2 extensions and we used the short to get to about 31†in depth for each hole.3. The gas mixing container comes in the kit to isolate from other gas mixes for other gas tools (I have 40:1 & 50:1 tools) and couldn’t find any premixes at the box stores.4. Very easy start after about 10 pumps on the bubble to get fuel to the carburetor. Could have pulls and started like a champ! Did about 50 holes, 8†diameter @ 31†in depth.5. Comes as a kit with EVERYTHING needed to get started (except gas/oil).CONS:1. The kill switch became nonfunctional after the first 6 or so uses. Likely loose connection but I have not fixed yet. Not a game changer for me as all we needed to do was choke it and move choke lever back. For us, no biggie.2. None. All in all, I REALLY like this auger! Once we were done with the fence, I emptied the gas tank back to the little gas can in the kit and stored it (still need to fix the kill switch). Guys that I was helping really liked it as well and could not believe how much I paid for this puppy.HIGHLY recommend!!

Really works great. I had to put up a fence, hard clay rocky dirt and 20 post. Not something I wanted to tackle with a post hole shovel. This project, done in only hours. I had some problems at first. Wire covers slide off and shorted out starting switch. Slid them back on and all is good. I only noticed the wire issue after reading manuals problem starting section. I guess with the vibration it happens. Vibration is only bad when you have a lot of rocks and roots like I did. Other times, barely vibrates. A total time saver and no body pains and blisters like you would get with a shovel.

This machine is good value for the money, once you get past the user manual, which is either poorly translated from Chinese or written by someone who does not have English as a first language. Also, much is left for the users to discover for themselves, which should not be; also there is no contact link for any sort of customer service or parts replacement.

This thing works. Easy to start easy to use. Powers through tough clay. We are busy punching 70 holes now.

The pull cord handle is made of hard plastic and will shatter if it snaps back quickly. The instructions say don't let it snap back but the engine has strong compression and so this is easier said than done. The auger is a pretty challenging to handle and I felt beat up after using it the first time. The auger did not pull dirt out of the hole very well as it got deeper. I had someone helping me who used a manual post hole digger to take loose dirt out of the hole. If you have many holes to did and the soil isn't too rocky then this tool is useful. For a week-end warrior the risk of injury might not be worth the reward.

Bought this off Amazon and should have seen the handwriting on the wall. Did not come with owners manual which is never good. 2nd time I tried to start it, the pull rope won't recoil. I contacted Amazon and their reply was pretty much....you're screwed, I guess because I bought it ahead of time in preparation of the project and when it came time....it started once for a test, once starting the project and that was it....so now I own a 125 lb. paper weight. No help from Amazon or the seller because "the warranty had expired". At this point I'm extremely unhappy with a machine I can't use and so far there's been no resolution offered.
