Our shower was dripping constantly. If within earshot, it was starting to get really irritating. In the past, I had replaced the two subassemblies that make up the valve: first one and then the other.This time, we went for this all-in-one cartridge assembly. It was easier and faster to install and we are again drip free. Its operation is sure and smooth.The instructions were straightforward. I did note that the instructions were for a slightly different product that was meant for two different 0X8 fixtures: old (deeper, which requires the included adapter) and new (shallower). This 9740420 cartridge is intended only for the older legacy model. That is what we have, and I'd rather get a cartridge that is specific to our needs. Simpler is usually better.Good product, very reasonable price.
