I love the tapered drill bit and the ease of use for setting up the stop. Having used this extensively on a cabinet job, one thing that surprised me was that maintenance is required on these. I started getting swirl marks on my pieces from the stop not freely spinning anymore. I removed the lock ring and took it apart and it was completely clogged up with sawdust. After cleaning and lubing the bearing with silicone lube, it worked great again. I imagine this maintenance will have to be completed regularly which is fine in my book because it functions so well.

Very accurate and easy to set up and use. Pilot holes set to just keep the screw head even with the work make the project look professional. The depth collar is simple and reliable and accurate

Finally got a chance to use it while building an Adirondack chair for the wife. Worked really well until about halfway through building the chair the bit snapped. They don’t seem to offer replacement bits that I could find. Amana needs to upgrade to a better quality bit and this would be a five starproduct all day.Update: Contacted Amana and they sent me two replacement bits. Top notch customer svc. 5 stars it is.

I learned about this tool from a youtube video. I've always struggled with consistent countersink depth, and none of the tricks I saw around solved the issue. This tool is GREAT as it ensures (once set up ) that all of your countersinks will be the same depth. As pretty much every other review has stated, the pilot drillbit is absolute garbage. I did about 15 holes before it broke. How could such a great tool come with such a poor quality bit? Better yet, how could a >$40 tool include a drill bit made so poorly? The good news is that it accepts a standard 3/32 bit. You can buy 4 of them from harbor freight for $2.99 and they are VASTLY higher quality than the included bit.Last minor complaint, as the tool is purportedly "non marring", you will see a bit of a circular indent in soft woods, so be prepared to follow up with a light sanding.

I'm a professional cabinetmaker. I use a countersink primarily in plywood when I assemble cabinets. Even though it looks rather clunky, this countersink works extremely well. It is wicked sharp and the adjustable depth stop produces consistent results. Initially, I was reluctant to buy it because of the price, but now that I have used it for a while, I have no regrets. It was worth every penny.

It works, but the overall quality is not that great. The bit itself broke after few usages.

No more guessing at screw depths. All screws will now all be the same depthJust wish they were slightly less expensive

Bought this Amana with the tapered but, worked fantastic until the unit fell off the table and broke the bit... Trying to find a replacement bit is next to impossible.

This takes the guessing out of having to eye up how deep to countersink! I wish I had got this a lot sooner. It’s very easy to use.
