About this item

  • [Installation Method] With the new installation method for the FP2, you can now mount it in the corner of a room. Just attach the included angle mount and switch to the corresponding mode in the app. This setting eliminates dead zones caused by the sensor’s angle and rotates the room layout by 45 degrees, allowing for enhanced zone detection and more automation options.
  • [Multi-Person &Zone Positioning] The Aqara Presence Sensor FP2 can simultaneously detect up to 5 people and trigger different scenarios and automation. Moreover, the FP2(2.4GHz Wi-Fi REQUIRED) offers significant advantages over PIR infrared motion sensors by using a single radar sensor to monitor rooms of up to 40 m² (430 sq ft). You can also divide it into up to 30 zones, such as sofa, bed or desktop, etc. and set up individual automations for each zone. It is like having several PIR sensors at the same time with one Presence Sensor FP2. Please note: the FP2 is a wired sensor that should be constantly powered.
  • [Sleep monitoring& Fall Detection] You can install FP2 next to the bed and select the sleep monitoring mode to sense the human body's sleep status in real time and generate a sleep health report. Moreover, you also can mount the FP2 on the ceiling and choose the Falling Detection Mode, which will detect and alert you through the app if someone falls. (Note: The FP2 is not a medical device, and can only be used for notification purposes)
  • [Multi-Ecosystem Support] The Aqara Presence Sensor FP2 is exposed as multiple sensors to HomeKit, Alexa, Samsung SmartThings and Home Assistant. (Note: The device can be added directly to Home Assistant using HomeKit Controller integration) You can integrate the sensor easily without requiring an Aqara hub, which is a great solution for smart home enthusiasts.
  • [Ultra-High Precision, Privacy, and Enhanced Features]By implementing millimeter-wave radar technology, the Presence Sensor FP2 provides precise detection of movement without false negatives, even for slight movements. No camera monitoring system maximizes privacy. With IPX5, it can be installed in wet environments. Additionally, it has a built-in light sensor for flexible lighting automations (Only available in Aqara Home, HomeKit, and IFTTT). Automations of FP2 are executed without sending to the cloud and will keep working even if there is no internet connection.

OK, so far I am very pleased with this. I purchased this to test it for two reasons. My wife suffers from a couple of debilitating neurological disorders. So far I have been using it for home automation. With some "if this then that" I am using it to turn on the bathroom lights and fan for my wife if she enters the bathroom during the day, and only one of the lights dim at night. It has been working great and reliably. No I want to order another one soon and try it for the fall detection. If that works as well I will order several for throughout the house. I will post updates as we progress.

I have tried for two days and read so many instruction guides on integrating this to Home Assistant. It works great in the iPhone app, but I have absolutely no use for it there. Saying that it integrates with anything else, much less without a hub, is very misleading. If I find a way to integrate this sensor, I'll update my review.

Terrible product, listen to the reviews/rating (currently 3.7). During the setup it was painfully obvious it wouldn't be able to deliver on what is advertised. I tried it on a shelf as well as wall mounted and neither position performed well enough to add it to my HA and everyday routines

I have a very large home automation setup with over 400 devices. I tried tons of different presence sensors and these are by far the best I have ever used. In total I have 7 and plan to add 7 more. They maybe on the more expensive side but believe me you get what you pay for.

Wanted this to work so badly, just will not link to my wifi. I shut off my 5ghz like it recommended and after dozens of attempts it just refuses to link up. Definitely not goong to be using aqara products going forward.

Many of the connection complaints are warranted. Is it a pain to get connected? Yep (ish). If you have a router that support multiple frequencies, you must disable all of them except the 2.4Ghz one prior to setting up.Pro-tip: Turn off your mobile data on your phone before trying to setup.Next, you MUST use a USB-C to USB-A cable. USB-C to USB-C will not work consistently. This gotcha almost made me return it until I found a Reddit post on this.Once connected it's great. Easy to get working with SmartThings, just make sure you fully configured your zones in the Aqara app before adding the device in SmartThings. Will be purchasing more of these.

We have just got this Aqara smart motion sensor for our smart living room. Out of the box, the sensor is really compact. It comes with the sensor itself, an USB cable, bases, double tapes, screws and a manual. The installation is pretty easy. I just need to apply the base on the ceiling of our living room, apply the sensor on it, run the USB cable to nearby power source, then connect the sensor to my iPhone (Aqara Home App) and it is really to be used. The sensor uses radar technology to scan our living room, it then can detect multiple people in room and controls the lights in specific areas. There are more features can be used once connecting it to Apple Home Kit App, I'm playing with it.Overall, I would like to recommend this smart motion sensor due to its great features.
