- A dew shield is an essential accessory that protects your optical tube from excess moisture forming condensation on the corrector lens. A lens shade also helps block out stray light outside the path of the telescope for better viewing and astroimaging. Fits my 102mm mak just fine. The velcro is very strong and the material feels sturdy enough to last a long time.

Does the job, although for my 5†SCT telescope it is barely able to overlap with the velcro. Probably should go with next one up, even though it is supposed to fit.

Perfectly fits my 8" (205mm) Newtonian and easily goes over the tightening knobs for the spikes (or whatever they're called) that hold the secondary mirror. I may end up cutting a notch in it so it slips past the focuser for a more secure fit (and hope it doesn't impact the shield's integrity), but it's pretty secure as it is. It does stick out pretty far, so a strong gust of wind could potentially knock it off center and impact the FOV, but Newtonians are not great in the wind anyway. It ships flat and pretty stiff, so it took me a little time to get it to the right size, but its sturdiness means it won't sag or flop around. Very well made.A note about the box it came in...the dew shield comes flat, and the Amazon box was enormous! So big, I could fit inside! Could be that the facility was out of the correct boxes or something, but I just had to laugh.

Outstanding dew shield. We live in the fog here at home during the winter and this dew shield is perfect for this area. Great product and highly recommended.

The ad said for C8, and it almost fits. I had to use duct tape to hold it on. It works great at holding the dew out.

For whatever reason they don't make one that fits the OD of a 6" Newtonian. At first I tried the 150mm+ version but it was too small.. It's also very, very short for some reason, in depth.Then I ordered the 200mm+ one which is too large, but the velcro still reaches just fine. It's not a perfect circle when it's put together, but it doesn't get in the way of the FOV of the scope so it just looks imperfect. The depth of the 200mm one is much deeper.The insides of both were covered in a seriously dark black felt like material that reflects absolutely nothing. I'm happy, I recommend
