Got this and used it for the April 2024 eclipse. Might have been overkill, but it allowed me to make small adjustments to keep the eclipse centered onscreen (Sony R5) at the critical moments. I may use it again with a tripod when I attempt to use the R5 to scan old negatives. Will update this review when that happens. Overall, good quality and made my eclipse workflow easy.

I purchased this for real estate photography and it’s excellent. The adjustments are precise and it feels very solid.I previously had a Manfrotto geared head and I like this better.My only complaint is tightening the mounting plate is a bit odd because it’s tight under the camera, otherwise you mount the camera backwards, but not a big deal at all.Very happy with my purchase.

I primarily do real estate photography and have been using a ball head mount. I was able to get my verticals vertical but took a bit of fiddling to make sure with the ball head. With thia gear head, it's quick! Adjusting pan and tilt individually is a game changer.

PROS:It's about perfect for my particular application, at a price point that is not too discouraging.I find the stiffness of the fine adjustment just about right. I haven't found that I need to use the course adjustment. People find them far too stiff but for me, my course adjustment is just moving the tripod.CONS:Mounting - It wasn't intuitive how to mount the head on a standard tripod. It was a big concern of mine when I ordered - whether or not it would mount without some kind of adapter - and it's not really shown well or discussed in the Amazon listing. What you get is a 3/8 male thread. This did not automatically mount on my ZOMEI tripod. It's a boom tripod and I was able to adapt the boom to the Bento geared head - so that was successful however my lower priced Vivitar tripod - which has a standard camera mount - would not accept the Benro head. I would guess that photographers and artists that need this type of head have a more professional type of tripod anyway - but be aware of the mounting requirement when ordering the Benro. You might need a male-male 3/8 adapter, or a 1/4 - 3/8 adapter, or some combination thereof.I want to reiterate my overall satisfaction with this product. The build feels sturdy, and the movements are smooth and with very little backlash. It does what I need at a price I can afford. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a geared tripod head.

Solid very well-constructed geared head! The quick-release mechanism is a little hard to use, but the tradeoff is a solid head with no play at all.

I've always been impressed with the quality of benro products. That's when I was looking for a good gearhead. There was really only two great designs between this one and manfrotto. I ended up choosing this one. Because I've all really had great experience with their other products. And when considering the price size, low weight and value, this one was a clear choice. I've been using it for a long time now. And it has continued to perform perfectly, just like new. I highly recommend this for precise adjustments when photographing things like products, architecture or food photography.

heb deze besteld en vond het ene grote teleurstelling als ik het wilde monteren .. namelijk de schroefdraad om hem te bevestigen op het statief was beschadigd .... kon hem niet meer terugsturen daar ik eerst nog van mijn ander statiefkop gebruik gemaakt heb maar die het nu begeven heeft .... en is meer dan een maand geleden ... tsja . zeker niet tevreden ... ook al is het van Benro ...

Una rotula muy para fotografiar con trÃpode, y tener un control muy fino del encuadre, no pesa demasiado, y pueden realizarse movimientos precisos o mas acentuados. Sin duda una rotula muy útil para tener un control del encudre, además cuenta con varios niveles de burbuja para nivelar perfectamente la cámara.

I really like how there is plenty of attention to detail but the whole thing is a lot bigger than k expected. That means it’s really stable but also not ideal for travel.
