Heavy duty. Switches my camera from horizontal to vertical easily. No "L" bracket to put on and take off. That's why I bought it. But the bonus is that it works with my Neewar quick connect system. One flip I can go Horiz. to Vert. One flip and the built in rotator on the "Z" circles 360 smoothly for panoramic shots. One push of a button on the quick connect and the camera pops off to chg battery or sd card. No fumbling around in the dark. I do astrophotography.. Love..love..love

This handy little device is very well made and a good size. It's big enough to hold a camera even at an awkward angle, yet small enough to fit into my setup. There are smaller ones and bigger versions from other manufacturers but this is the only one that utilizes flap levers on the hinge screws. The other manufacturers models uses a hex wrench to adjust the tensions of the hinges. It's not that that's a bad thing, it's just that it's inconvenient. When you're out using the other ones (which I also have) all things being equal, you can never find the right size hex (allen) wrench or worse - you drop it into the great dark void! The manufacturer actually exists as a Astronomy Star Tracking mount maker, that's why it's named Move-Shoot-Move, which refers to astrophotography. This item is not limited to only that, it can be great for regular photography use also.In any case, it's a handy little device for putting on top of a star tracker and mounting a camera to it and getting the angle that you need!

I have a nice travel tripod that I like except the ball head that it came with isn't enough so I thought I would give this idea a try. I picked this one from several others, I don't remember exactly why but I'm glad I did. This thing is sturdy, well thought out and the folding design actually works better than it looks like it would. I holds my 5DIV with a big lens no problem. In fact, now the tripod itself is the weak point. I got this mainly for a hiking/pack tripod, but I'll be using this mount for night sky photography as well.

Wanted to raise my binocular view above the pan-handle of my tripod. Saw this all metal Z Flex Tilt Head, ordered it. It arrived quickly and I then placed my large celestron skymaster 25x70 binoculars on them and they rose well above the pan-handle of my tripod and held them very securely. I would recommend them.

I purchased this product to replace a much cheaper "universal" Z-mount that would not hold my 0.75 Kg Panasonic Lumix G95 with 25mm prime lens stationary on a Glide Gear TMP-100 teleprompter stand. Conversely, the locking mechanism on the Move Shoot Move (MSM) Z-mount is rock-solid and you don't need to apply full force on the tightening screws to get the Z-mount to hold its position. I also love the spring-loaded thumb levers on the tightening screws where you can easily adjust their alignment around the screw heads without any tools in case the camera body or tripod head interfere with their rotations. The rotating panorama function, integrated bubble levels, or angle markings on the hinges are of no use to my application but the device does lock solidly in place, which is what I need. For the most part, lighting and camera hardware are just metal plates, screws, and screw holes (within tolerances, of course). Thus, inexpensive, unbranded hardware is often just as adequate as higher-priced, brand-named hardware. However, in the case of Z-mounts, considering the engineering challenge of designing a sufficient locking mechanism based solely on the amount of frictional pressure applied along the length of a relatively small hinge pin at the fulcrum of the lever, I'm convinced that my recent experience exemplifies the adage that one should "buy nice or buy twice" when it comes to Z-mounts. I did have a slight problem with screwing the MSM Z-mount's 1/4-inch adapter onto my TMP-100 teleprompter mounting screw. I removed the adapter and worked the TMP-100 mounting screw through it several times with some silicone lubricant. The two parts still bind together in a particular spot along the screw path (the problem clearly being the Z-mount's 1/4-inch adapter as I've had not previous issues with the TMP-100 mounting screw), but I won't need to remove the MSM Z-mount from my TMP-100 on a regular basis. Plus, 1/4-inch mount adapters are cheap and easy to replace.

I liked everything so far, the mechanics are bullet proof, time will tell I guess. Nice piece of work. Only thing I saw that I might worry about is the lug that tightens in to the tripod base came out and stayed on the base attached to the camera for mounting on the tripod. I would probably use extra strength lock tight material to keep it on the base of the unit.

I have used an Edelkrone version which is very heavy and requires a hex wrench and this one is much lighter and does not require tools. Basically great design with doubling the friction pads but they have very small diameter so somewhat defeating the design purpose. In order to get somewhat close to holding more than 2 pounds the lock screws have to be tightened to the max. The lock screw for the rotation is placed where it prevents the camera facing down by using only one hinge which would be more stable. If it would be on the side like the other ones there would be no interference

This unit is very versatile. Built well and sturdy. I'm using it on a smaller camera for time lapse photography . It articulates in any angle I need to position my camera for the shot. It will come in handy for my larger cameras too. Have not tried on full frame camera but I believe it can handle the weight..

Very well engineered piece of equipment. Very easy to adjust. I am using it primarily as an astronomic adjustable wedge.

Well built, very solid and easy to lock down once the desired angle is set. Makes mounting my camera to a small star tracker for astrophotography much easier and much better balanced.

This Z tripod head doesn't lock in position properly. It doesn't live up to it's claims. Very disappointed I am.
