OK, I think the "Rescue Tape" thing might belong to one of the brand names, but odds are that it all comes out of the same factory, and it all does the same thing. This tape can fix leaks, insulate a damaged wire, wrap a tool handle, wrap up an extension cord without leaving a sticky mess, fix a coolant hose . . . you name it. Every emergency kit should have a roll of this tape in one form or another. It is designed so that it doesn't use adhesive, but instead sticks to itself. In fact, it doesn't just stick--it FUSES! The layers of tape anneal into each other to create a leakproof membrane. This particular tape is a little thinner than most, which makes it more conforming and less bulky. Of course, if you're concerned about sealing a leak, just wrap it once or twice more to get a thickness you're comfortable with.I tried wrapping the handles of my Knipex XS pliers, but the jury is still out on whether I'm going to leave it on. But if I change my mind, I can cut off the tape and not leave any residue. This stuff deserves a spot in every "get out of trouble" kit, and I was very pleased to see it at $17 for three rolls. Far less than the brand names, but so far it is every bit as good.

I got these rolls for fixing up wiring harnesses, and so far the one I've done is holding up. There were some ratty wires under my truck leading to the tow hitch plug, and I used these to wrap around the wires and make a loom This gives it some abrasion resistance and keeps debris from hitting the wires. I then zip tied the wiring harness to the frame.I can imagine this for other uses too, like maybe repairing a hole in a radiator hose or some similar cooling hose, like the oil cooler. I'm going to keep the other two rolls in my truck glove box as insurance. The price is kinda high for these small rolls, that's the drawback. If you get a lot of dust/dirt on the tape and it stops sticking to itself, washing it off with soap and water seems to help. Being silicone it should have the best heat resistance of any tape, so you could probably use this near headers/downpipes, etc.

This electrical tape is very nice. It is not sticky but man does it stick. The adhesive doesn't rub off but once applied to itself it is bonded pretty good. Used it to cover some wiring and it does the job. Would definitely recommend.

This self fusing silicone tape is good quality silicone. It’s pretty much the same stuff that I buy at stores. Same way to apply just stretch the tape out about 3x its length and start wrapping. The tape will fuse onto itself as long as you don’t have any oily fingers or any grease or oil around the tape that may affect the surface of the silicone tape itself. Overall, very happy with the quality of the silicone tape!

This self-fusing tape works well for sealing and insulating without the sticky residue of regular electrical tape. I used it to reinforce a worn cable, and it wrapped smoothly and bonded securely. It stretches easily, making it simple to get a snug fit. It’s held up fine so far, even with some exposure to heat and moisture. Definitely a handy thing to have around for small repairs or extra protection on wiring.

Have been using self-fusing tape for years doing electrical work, and my local supplier had run out of the brand I preferred. I came across this product and figured I would give it a shot. Here are my thoughts:Items arrived promptly and were packaged appropriately. This type of tape is pretty self-explanatory, so no instructions are included. On one of my trailers, I had a pretty nasty break in the insulation on the 7-way trailer light/brake connector. While it is on the list to replace, I used some of this tape to seal up the repaired area so it can last a while longer prior to overhaul. The tape is very much like the incredibly high-priced name brand products and installs the very same way. It has a plastic insulator that separates the material from itself as it is self-fusing. It rolls out evenly and the tape stretches perfectly as it is supposed to. It fuses nicely with itself and had it not been so cold, it probably would have looked much better.Overall, I think I will be buying this stuff in bulk from now on, instead of paying for the overpriced name brand.Highly recommend!

This silicone electrical tape works well. I like that it fuses to itself only and doesn’t leave any of that gross residue behind like regular electrical tape. It seems to hold up well so far. I’m happy with it!

This self-fusing tape is a good deal thinner than the tapes that are sold for general purpose "repair" work. And for applications that don't require holding back pressure - this might be easier to use and easier to get a good, even, conforming wrap out of. I have used this for a few repair, insulation, and reinforcement projects and so far, I love it. I do not generally work with voltages over what you'd see in "homeowner" electrical work, so I cannot speak to arc resistance here, but it certainly insulates at 120 volts and below. And it is easy to stretch and bend, and it self-fuses as you'd expect - not instantly, fortunately, so if you screw up and realize it quickly, you can pull it back apart - but an hour later, it's essentially one piece. And thanks to the lower thickness, if you're doing something like reinforcing a plug or putting in some strain relief, you will wind up with frankly a less ugly finished product, as a few wraps of this stuff aren't nearly as bulky and it will follow the contours of what you're wrapping more closely. I think my normal silicone tape is going in the drawer for when I wind up with a burst pipe or leaky radiator hose, and this is going to be my new go-to for routine repairs and reinforcements.
