I highly recommend this lockbox to secure your valuables. Installing it on the seat frame means a thief would have to remove the seat to gain access.Mounted to the seat frame underneath the passenger seat it moves forward and back with the seat and can not be seen when the seat is forward. This set up works perfect in my 2 door vehicle. It does not invade the back seat floor area.Flocking on top and bottom inside case is nice. When locked inside the frame, the box is secure and I am unable to get a grip on the box. This means there is nothing to grab on to try and pull, or wiggle/rock the case loose from the frame. It is a good tight fit, yet slides in and out easily. The metal box feels sturdy and well built, as does the frame. There is nothing flimsy about it, but the box is also not heavy. It is easy to lift with one hand while in the driver's seat reaching into the back passenger floor board.I've been using the lockbox daily for several months now and have no concerns that it may fail in the future. This is a well thought out design made right. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

This is a pretty good car safe though it's not as big as I was hoping, I got it for storing my carry handgun but it's not quite large enough for a wide range of iron. I can just fit a SW Shield inside but not a full size auto, the height would be fine but the length and width simply won't accommodate it. It does of course fit my wallet and my wife was able to fit a very small utility purse inside so if that's what you need this for then you're golden.Install is fairly simple, at least in my Jeep Wrangler. Flip up the back seat, lay frame at desired location, mark holes, drill into tub, screw in bolts, done. There are 6 mounting holes but I only used the four corners, it's still plenty snug and secure and I just figured I didn't need the extra bolts fired through the frame. The latch uses a capture-key system meaning you insert the key, twist to open, and key stays with the safe until it's closed again. The frame is mountable on the floor or an overhead, though for an overhead mount you would need to turn the safe upside down because the locking latch extends through the frame just a bit and causes a clearance issue. Or you could offset the frame as the kit comes with 6 little plastic spacers for exactly this use. The material and construction of the safe and mounting bracket are good, it would take some effort to get this out of the vehicle and the safe itself covers the mounting bolts so a thief would have to hack or beat the hell out this thing to remove it.Overall I like the safe, I do wish the internal dimensions were larger but this is as large a unit as will fit under a very low Wrangler back seat, your vehicle type may allow for something larger. I might install a second unit next to this one in case I've got extra stuff which needs securing, and I'll have to remember that Jeep=Shield when it comes to carrying a piece.

After trying several various lock boxes over the years - I have finally found the perfect one! It is not made out of "cheap plastic" like someone stated in another product review, but it is also definitely not "heavy duty steel". It's more like a very strong, durable, carbon fiber material. All of my other lock boxes have been pried open, or broken into. There's no way someone would have enough time to bust through these 3 stages of security without being caught like they could with a simple latch box. It's small enough to comfortably, and conveniently take with me at all times. Yet durable, and secure enough that I no longer have to worry about my stuff when someone decides to stop over unannounced. Which is usually a daily occurrence. I also used worry what my neighbors thought when they saw me carrying a big, heavy, metal lock box with a digital combo every time I left the house, or came home. Now I can just carry this perfectly sized little box around. Thank You Bulldog! I don't have to worry about my meds, credit cards, cash, bank info., and other small valuables going missing for the first time in years! The mounting bracket makes it much harder to break into even if someone manages to find the time to compromise the lock. It won't pry, or pop open like all the other types of lock boxes it's size because the bracket is holding it shut. P.S. If you, or someone you know is having similar issues with people stealing these kinds of things, I strongly recommend this product. It may not defend against a really determined thief with plenty of time to fiddle around. But, if you usually have to take your lock box of things with you, it's perfect.

I can't be too critical as this is a very inexpensive lock box for compact pistols. When it is in the sleeve it seems to be relatively secure and not likely to be stolen. The problem starts with the lock. This is a wafer style lock with a key number printed on the lock face that you could conceivably order a replacement at any locksmith vendor online. This lock is about as secure as the typical master lock -- not at all secure. You can put anything in the lock and it will pop open. This is a big no no... This can be opened in seconds and then they can take the whole box.As far as the construction of the rest of the box it has a tack-welded hinge on the back side that I feel might be a little too weak. The inside is plain and has molded plastic with a felt-like material lining so you don't scratch your gun. I am able to fit a Glock 27, two magazines (+1 baseplate), and a flush magazine in the gun. There's plenty of room for sub compacts! For the price I understand why corners were cut but the one thing you really shouldn't is the lock. Thankfully the weak hinge welds shouldn't be an issue when it is mounted in the sleeve. I will be looking for options before I risk using this in my truck for the occasions I can't carry.I would rate this a 4 if not for the lock.
