My name is Joelle and I’m the inventor of Butterie, the Flip-Top Butter Dish.
Growing up I always thought butter needed to be refrigerated. My parents kept the butter in the fridge, and so when I became a mom, I did the same. Then several years ago I made the best mistake of my life: I accidently left the butter out overnight.
The next morning I realized it was so much better at room temperature; it was soft, easy to spread, and tasted delicious. Later that day my neighbor told me she never refrigerated her butter. It was life-changing information.
Once I decided to keep my butter on the counter, I started using a butter dish for the first time and I quickly realized they are an unacceptable mess. Butter on the lid, butter on my counter, butter on my hands, butter smooshed in the dish, and I thought, "a simple flip-top lid would solve all these problems."

Butterie is designed to hold 8 ounces- which is 2 sticks of butter, or the popular European butters, such as Kerrygold.

Legitimately the hands down winner for badassery in a butter dish... I know.. I got it... it's a butter dish... this thing is thoughtfully designed and styled fir functionality and usability. Holds two (1/2#) normal sticks of butter OR one of those amazing Kerry Gold or other wide sticks. No slip feet, proper sized handles and a no slip lid tipping aid... top it off with a matching serving knife. We'll done... I'll likely grab another so there's always one loaded and ready on the counter for great room temp spreadable butter. Scientific fact... butter doesn't need refrigeration.

Best butter dish I've ever used, holds 2 sticks of butter nicely and is easy to move around and close. Keeps butter fresh for days, easy to clean with just hot water butter melts right off and is as good as new. Had my first one for years before it finally broke at the little connector spot where the back wall connects to the base of the butter dish. Other than that nothing else to complain about, second one is going on 2 years now so far.

Great purchase! I can now safely leave my butter out so it's always room temperature. This makes breakfast and general cooking so much easier. No worries about losing the lid or forgetting to cover or return the butter. No messy butter wrappers or dropped butter sticks. Just wipe the spreader off after use and set it in the convenient spreader spot. The red is prettier than I thought and looks great. The size is perfect and it's very sturdy. I'm very happy with this purchase.

The concept is great. The execution is almost great.This butter dish holds two sticks of butter or a stick/block of Irish butter. That is why I bought it. I was using a single stick stoneware version and wanted to upgrade so I could keep more butter out of the fridge at once. This is just a tad small for two sticks of butter or a stick of Irish butter. The reason is you have to push it all the way to the backstop area for the lid to close. Even then, it comes really close to coming down on the butter. That makes it difficult to clean the spoon off as well because the only place I see to wipe it is the backstop, which has butter directly beneath it.I think if you use this for a single stick of butter, this would work much better. But for two sticks simultaneously, it's tight and a little messy. It still works, but the downside is that means using up all the butter and throwing it in the dishwasher more often. I was hoping to avoid this because that means running out of soft butter right before it's time to wash it. I don't like being out of soft butter.Does it hold butter? Yes.Does it hold two sticks of butter or an Irish stick? Barely.Is it easy to clean? Sure, throw it in the dishwasher.Is it easy to keep clean? Not really.Is this a deal breaker? No. I'll just wash it more often that my last butter dish. But if a slightly larger version of this comes along, I'll be quick to upgrade.

Super cute design. I love how it holds 2 sticks, realistic for our large family. Closes nicely without getting butter on the lid. Wipes clean very easily, doesn't have to be washed daily.

As described. Works great. Durable, perfect size. Seals good so nothing gets in it. Keeps butter soft and safe on the counter.

Not a bad concept. A bit pricey for what it is. Works well. I suggest you not totally disassemble to clean. The back cover tabs break very easily. The company was great at replacing it, but I think it can be cleaned without removing that plate and risking the tabs breaking off. I like that it holds two quarter pound sticks of butter.

I like it... Honestly not sure if it's worth the extra cost over a regular butter dish, but I like the flip top.

Das Design der Butterdose ist sehr schön, allerdings geht keine handelsübliches Butter (250g) hinein, man muß die Butter durchschneiden, tatsächlich passt nur die Hälfte rein.Schade aber für mich nicht geeignet.
