My wife and I recently moved, and in the process of preparing the house did a number of renovations including painting all of our cabinets. I've used the super simple plastic templates for putting cabinet hardware on in the past, but with the expense we had just gone through with the renovations I wanted something a bit more precise before I fired up the drill. This template was simple to use, accurate, and made the process of putting on hardware far less stressful than it could have been.Setting up the initial reading can be tricky, but once you've dialed in your measurements this template does not shift. You can accurately repeat holes over dozens of doors or drawers with no trouble whatsover. My first attempt to setup the template took me probably 15 minutes of struggle, but after that I drilled all of the holes I needed without any need to stop and realign. The second setting took me far less time, and had similar results. There are more expensive versions of this product, and I have no doubt they are good also, but for the project size I was working on this was the most I was willing to spend. I liked that it was mostly metal, and that it worked accurately out of the package without the need for lots of fiddling. I'd recommend it for the one time DIYer, but maybe if you're a cabinet maker or something by trade you'll want something a little fancier.

This a quality set that should last. It was very easy to set up and the guide for making the holes helps a ton for making straight through hardware holes. Also being able to flip it from left to right side cabinet doors without needing to adjust, is perfect. I did use a different drill bit than the one it came with, I was drilling thru maple so it wasn’t as fast as I preferred. Good set overall.

I just purchased this jig to use for installing knobs on some cabinet doors and drawer pulls on some cabinet drawers. I had previously used a hand made jig on some drawer pulls and found the whole process to be clumsy, time consuming, difficult to get the jig in position and hold in position.I'm using 5" drawer pulls and needed a jig that could measure in inches, not just millimeters. Some jigs can measure only in millimeters. This jig with easy to read aluminum ruler measurements in inches and millimeters can measure in both. After using it for only a few minutes, I found it to be extremely accurate, relatively easy to use and a great time-saver.Some minor drawbacks are that the instruction booklet had only a few pictures and was useless. But it was easy to figure out how to use. Also, it would be helpful to have an additional holding block to use on an opposite end to better hold the jig in place. Despite these drawbacks, I would still highly recommend this product to make the process of installing cabinet hardware accurate and in far less time with good results.David

I had to install 16 drawer and 14 door pulls in my new kitchen. I chose this jig due to its ability to handle long pulls (in my case, up to 12 inches). I am very happy with the jig itself. The accuracy is definitely good enough for drilling center to center holes for the pulls. Despite some negative comments, the guide bushings fit the included drill bit very well and despite what some say, I cannot imagine what they did to the jig to damage it ("it broke!"). I will however lodge one complaint: Runout on the included drill bit was TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! I did not measure it but my guess is that the TIR was over 100/1000ths (yes, about 1/16-3/32). Upon inserting the bit into the guide and running the drill motor, it would cause the guide to move around excessively. I played with the bit, inserting more or less in my drill chuck but it did not improve the runout issue. As this is a brad point drill bit, I would simply drill the point in about 1/16," remove the jig, and finish the hole without it, centering the bit on the previously bored center hole. This worked just fine. As long as the drill centers were established using the jig, the holes would be perfect (assuming that you can drill a hole that is straight and normal to the drawer or door surface). Finally, if you want the guides to remain stationary when drilling through, you may want to consider strategically-placed bar clamps. But as I mentioned, after you drill the brad point holes, you no longer need the jig.4 out of 5 stars.

We just remodeled our kitchen and had a combination of 44 new handles and knobs to install. My husband has always hated this task. This tool made installation quick and easy. He mentioned several times how great it was and how thankful he was that I bought it. Well worth the money!

At first, I purchased a template that required you to mark the holes with a pencil. Eyeballing the pencil marks caused the holes to be uneven. This tool takes the guess work out! It worked great for cabinets and drawers. For the cabinets, once the tool is set properly, it was very easy to go from cabinet-to-cabinet drilling holes. All my cabinets had the same measurement for the hole drilling. On occasion, a few cabinets were not installed even, so I needed to adjust the cabinet height a bit. For the drawers, be sure to measure the drawer height and length before drilling. I discovered that my kitchen had four different drawer sizes. Once the height of the tool is set, I needed to measure for the center, then adjust the tool length. Great tool for the price! Is it perfect, no.. I noticed sometimes about an 1/16 inch difference, but it worked for me.

Very easy to use. Knobs lock tight and the accuracy is very good. I think it's the best jig in its price class and I have had great success with it. Comes with a nice little case to keep everything together.
