I am really glad we purchased this e-collar for my 6 month old male cat recovering from his neuter surgery. He is EXTREMELY active and also quite the Houdini. He was able to get the donut off only a couple of times (usually overnight) but typically tolerated it without protest. In fact he used it like a pillow when napping! He was unable to reach his incision despite the relatively small size of the donut collar, so it worked exactly as I had hoped. This particular e-collar is not large and does not have an internal air bag — it is stuffed like a pillow with fluffy filling. I like that because he was unable to damage it and it would have no issues in the washer or dryer. For my other cats we used a traditional plastic e-collar and had lots of struggles with the water/food bowls, but with this one he didn’t have trouble and could keep the collar on while eating.Be advised it has a cinch like a jacket, NOT snaps or loops - no way to attach it to a typical collar. I personally like this because it was easier to adjust and take on/off.I’m glad I have this e-collar for any future pets who need to be prevented from licking problem spots. It’s very effective and much more comfortable.

When our 5 year old male cat underwent a perineal urethrostomy (PU) after three blockages, my husband and I needed a reliable soft collar to prevent him from licking his stitches. We had previously tried another soft collar, but he was able to take it off too easily. This time, we purchased two sizes of this donut collar—medium and large—since he weighs about 14.5 pounds. Both sizes fit well, but we found that he could remove the large one more easily, even though it provided better coverage and prevented him from reaching his stitches as much.Ultimately, we decided to use the medium size but doubled it up with his old collar behind it for extra security. We’ve been using it for about a week and this combination worked best for us, but if your cat is comfortable wearing just the donut, it should be sufficient. One of the things I really like about this collar is that it not only prevents licking but also serves as a comfy pillow for him. Plus, it looks adorable!I would highly recommend purchasing two so you can have a backup while washing the other—our cat often gets wet food on his collar. Overall, this soft collar has been a great solution for our needs, and I’d definitely recommend it to other pet owners looking for a comfortable yet effective alternative to a traditional cone.

My cat has a large wound on his neck and wound, I have to keep him from scratching at it, I’ve tried 4 different types of cones and he was able to rip all of them off, he had a plastic cone that he ripped one of his toenails out trying to get off. So I tried this donut. He has not been able to get it off, it’s soft so if he scratches at it, he doesn’t hurt himself and it’s cute. He’s able to eat like normal and move around like normal unlike with a cone, he honestly doesn’t even seem to mind wearing it. I use a wet towel to clean it if his ointment or blood gets on it, it wipes off pretty easily. Im very happy with the donut and im glad I switched to it instead of a cone.

It seems to hold up well. We have been using it for our cat that was neutered, and he can still eat and play easily. The only issue we’ve had is that it absorbs water when he drinks, and I’ve not figured out how to avoid that. It’s very adjustable and comfortable enough for him to sleep in. My only complaint is that it’s a little difficult to clean well because of how absorbent it is.

Our poor girl needed emergency surgery and was terrified of the plastic cone they put on her. As soon as we got home we switched it out for this adorable doughnut and she relaxed immediately. She is a petite cat and had no issues walking in this, and we were able to adjust it to fit her small neck. It didn't block her line of sight at all but it kept her from reaching her incision - we didn't even need the suit we got her. After a day she figured out how to use it as a pillow and looked pretty darn cozy. It didn't block her eating at all, but we did find it easier for her to use a raised bowl while wearing. The first couple of times she used the litter box I had to lift it slightly so it didn't get caught on the step, but she quickly figured it out herself and had no issues. I washed it when she was free and it looks great! We'll definitely be bringing this to the vet next time so we can skip the cone all together.

Ordered after my kitty had surgery. She looked adorable but she found a way to take it off, even if it was quite secure. Will work for calmer cats just not my crazy love.

My cat was neutered and this donut was perfect and better than the cone. Soft enough for him to use it as a rest pillow, which was a plus. You can adjust how tight you want it so that is really good too. Overall, worked great for us.

We have a super sensitive senior Siamese cat that constantly over grooms to the point of having bald spots. We have changed his environment and got this donut for him. The donut is soft on his neck while preventing him from over grooming. Soft enough for him to use as a pillow while sleeping. Definitely much better than a hard plastic cone. I bought 2 of them so that we can alternate while machine washing. Goes through the washer & dryer with ease. Definitely recommend.
