I’ve never sharpened a chain before. So I had no idea what I was doing. Lots of YouTube videos helped me learn but when it came to using this, it still made no sense. I found it difficult to use the guides provided and just ended up following the advice of a YouTube video.

This sharpening kit may come with everything you need to sharpen you chainsaw chain in a nice convenient pouch however the quality of the included items is rather low. Basically you get what you pay for.The files work good for chain sharpening but my kit came with slightly bent files which when installed in the guide cause a pinching with the saw chain while trying to file. In other words, the bent file makes contact with the center of the guide and is where the chain teeth get pinched while trying to file. I also never got to use the included wooden handle because it falls right off the files and will not stay on. Due to the above, I can only use the files as is without the handle or the guide. I'll be looking for a better kit.Taking the price into consideration, I sadly can only give this set a generous 3 stars and only because the files by themselves seem good other then being slightly bent. The files themselves do so far seem to have good wear resistance.
