This is made of a nice sturdy plastic and is easy to take out of the skimmer and not have to put hands in cold water

I was concerned this wouldn’t fit, or would be flimsy, but it’s sturdy and fit. Definitely worth the price and much cheaper than getting it from our pool guy. Yaay!

This fit perfectly in our skimmer and the handle pokes up out of the water so I don’t have to worry if there are spiders or mice in the skimmer. It’s great and feels very sturdy.

I ordered 2 of these to replace the ones in my pool that were broken. They fit perfectly (better than the originals, really) and work great. Delivery was a lot faster than expected, too.

I love this concept. I hate putting my hand down in the skimmer to empty it after a heavy rainstorm (or a bit of neglect) - it's always filled with crickets and unknown. The normal baskets are hard to remove. I bought one with a bar that runs across the top but when the basket is full, I have to put my hand in the leaves to find the bar and then it broke off within a month. THIS one has a handle that sticks up but is still below the level of my cover. Here's why this one got 4 stars for me: I love the handle but the shape of the basket does not fit my standards skimmer. My skimmer uses a round basket that is the same diameter on the top and bottom (shaped like a cylinder). This basket tapers at the bottom a bit and the top diameter is too big for my skimmer. Because I loved the handle so much, I removed the handle from this basket and attached it to my old skimmer basket. Now it's perfect for my skimmer. The handle is thick and sturdy and makes empty the basket SO MUCH easier and pleasant.

Why is all pool equipment cheaply made and expensive plastic trash? If you ever fought with your original, old school, plastic filter bucket with the horribly designed swivel handle that broke after the second month of use, then upgrade to this basket. The second it comes out of the box, you can tell it was created by someone who has to clean pools on the regular. It just works. Heavy, thick plastic, so it sinks right to the spot where it belongs, not floating. And you know it's gonna last. The handle makes removal super easy and requires less bending and reaching. After my second basket broke, I tried the various vortex pool skimmer basket gimmicks I saw on TikTok. Flimsy, fussy, floaty, ineffective and useless. Turns out, all that was needed was the original basket design in heavier gauge plastic, with a super durable and easy to grab handle. You can tell by the weight it's just made better. Buy one. Then forget about it and get on with your life.

No more using a screw driver to get the basket out! The handle is sturdy and makes it easy to remove.

The original one would float if it got more than a few pine needles. This one has a weight. It stays seated. Not as easy to clean as the original though. It is heavier and I can’t tap it very hard against something to dislodge leaves because I’m concerned I might damage it because it’s so much heavier. Overall it is a worthwhile improvement.
