For being a direct replacement, the product was slightly too large. I had to use a utility knife to shave off a little of the tab on the leading edge.

Since the loss of 'old fashioned' village hardware stores and the rise of 'Big Box Home Centers' it's become a challenge to fix old plumbing fixtures. I refused to replace this 35+ year old brass workhorse of a valve after its plastic and seals succumbed to the effects of our chlorinated city water supply. I'm certain some chrome plated plastic junk would never last as long as this unit has. It took a fair amount of digging on Mr. Google, but after reviewing a number of diagrams and looking for part numbers to search under, I located the correct fit. I've included a diagram for reference in hopes that it might save someone some time in their future quest. (it seems that this same diverter was also used in a number of other 'Delta applications' so searching with the part number will likely show those explosion diagrams also - good luck!)

We finally got one that fit after ordering 3. Beware: Delta told us the wrong one first, and then they seemed to be labeled incorrectly on the packaging.

I bought this part as it says it is the Delta OEM part for the 3 knob faucet set up. I purchased this after having a lot of frustration with the Danco 7S-10D parts that you can buy at Lowes or Home Depot. What I have discovered is that it is exactly the same part as the Danco one. I am not really convinced this is a real OEM part. It does not turn freely inside of the pipe, it doesn't fit correctly. It is exactly the same shape as the Danco product, which is not shaped correctly around the back end that is supposed to go into the pipe. I am pulling my hair out about this, because it's either replace this part that is the only part that is broken, or completely redo my pipes.
