I suppose it covers the glass, but not tightly. Metal bracket for attachment moves the whole assembly back too much that it doesn't fit well.

I mounted the shield according to the included instructions. The shield did not cover the glass by at least a 1/4 inch. Reversing the direction of the mounting bracket was still not effective in covering the glass area of the Telrad being blocked by the upper portion of the plastic rail of the Telrad glass.I removed the bracket and flattened it totally. I then re-bent the bracket into an “L" with the bolt hole on the short arm of the “Lâ€. This required me to drill out the screw hole to move the hole more laterally in the bracket to allow me to screw it into the back of the Telrad itself.This worked beautifully because the cover could come fully down over the glass to the detent portion that was molded into the shield to stop at the bottom of the glass portion of the Telrad.This bracket needs to be REDESIGNED according to what I've described. I've included a couple photos that should show the bracket fitting well over the scope and the re-engineered area of the bracket.Amazon, please pass along this information to the manufacturer so they can ship with something that works well.

The hard plastic screws are to long and when installed causes the sides of the cover to bend and stress on the hinges. If you use a file or sandpaper to shorten them about 1mm they are perfect length and no longer cause this nor stress on the cover's hinge. See photos. Have not used in the field yet to see how dew resistant it makes the Telrad.

I bought this to protect the glass when in storage. I don't always take my telrad off the scope. It also protects from dew.

Good, and accurate product. I received what is on the picture and description. However, a bit overpriced. Probably worth a few dollars.
