Perfect tool to help a DYI project. These wormy maple shelves were 11-3/4" wide and we had to drill 9" depth perfect to center in order to line up shelf brackets. Drill bit included, was a bit short and had to go get a longer bit, but for a standard project, the bit in the kit would be fine. Suggest using g a small amount of wd-40 on metals prior which help prevent friction.

Installing these braces took longer, was extremely frustrating, and in the end, not worth the amount of time and effort for the result. The system comes with a template that doesn't really work because the bracket itself is not aligned. The three prongs do not match the template provided. I purchased three sets of these and all had the same issue. the fabrication of the metal bracket is imprecise and the prongs are not aligned correctly. Think twice before buying this product.

The jig was shipped with one 1/2" X 8" drill bit. The 1/2" x 6" was not included in the package that I received.The jig itself was in good condition.
