I Have Been using HSS Forstner bits for years with reasonable results. These were on sale and I was getting ready to drill a lot of holes in red oak, so I decided to try these bits. They cut fast and clean with the carbide tips.Excellent quality and great results- What more can you ask .Highly recommend . I have also had qood luck with all of the Kowood router bits

I purchase the "Plus" set. I thought the C3 carbide and the spiral flutes on more sizes might be worth the extra $19. Still inexpensive for 8 carbide Forstners. I tested 4 of the 8 sizes on softwood and Oak. I'm impressed with the hole quality, cutting speed and chip evacuation. My HSS forstners don't evacuate chips well so deeper holes require a lot of pecking. If I push them too long and the load with chips they heat quickly with concern for loss of temper. These solve that problem, chip evacuation is very good. The higher RPM capability of carbide results in holes with better finish as well as faster production. I rotated each one through the jaws of a caliper and sizing is good. I haven't run them enough to comment on longevity but I see no reason to be concerned.

Really decent bit set at this price point. Getting good, clean cuts and great results. I haven't measures with the micrometer, but they're all definitely accurate enough for fine woodworking and furniture making. Unsure how long they're going to hold up, but they'll do for now.

I have used these to drill in oak, maple and cedar. They cut very smooth, fast and the holes are exact size. I would highly recommend.

I've only used the 1-1/2 inch bit but it was very sharp and worked great for me.

I needed a 1 5/8 inch bit and found this set for less than the price just that bit. I took a gamble because of the Amazon Return Policy and glad I did. I drilled 48 1 5/8" holes in Pecan which is a very hard wood and had no chip outs. Every pocket was clean. Upon completion of that project, the bit showed no signs of damage or even dulling. Glad I picked this set up. I see many more projects in their future.

I’ve only been using these bits for about a week and the timber I’m drilling is a very dense hardwood and there cutting great without a lot of pressure on the bit. So far I’ve drilled about 40 to 50 holes with two of the bits and there holding a great edge and I’m quite impressed. I really like the design of them and the big curls I’m getting of the cut. So I’m happy with the purchase would I buy them again yes I would
