How to Install
Step 1
Cut out a 6" section of the 2x3 inch downspout.
Step 2
Slide the top cap up.
Step 3
Put the bottom base in place.
Step 4
Make the top piece down into the bottom base.

It was a little scary cutting my rain pipe practically in half but the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I had bought a rain barrel and this item allowed me to redirect the rainwater to the rain barrel. It has 3 settings that allow all of the water or some of the water to go to the barrel or none of the water just by turning the switch. To be honest, it came out looking much better than I thought it would. It matches well with the drain pipe and it is not oversized so it blends. Very happy with the whole project. Now I have a water source on the other side of the house that is far away from the hose in order to water the plants.

The diverter works fine, but we had to order a different hose which cost us another $18. The hose provided is flat and won't stay opened. If you bend it to install, it crimps badly and does not allow water to flow.

I cut 5.5" gap based upon what other comments. It fit perfectly. The hose was folded flat for shipment, and would have caused kinking. I stuck it on a broom handle for a few days to remove the creases and that worked well. Recommended without reservation

I installed this unit in less than half hour. It works well and filled out rain barrel nicely. The unit has a few options to limit the amount of water to barrel vs running thru the downspout. At $30, it was a great purchase and highly recommend if you are in need

These diverters work really well. And are mostly easy to install. The lower half has to slip into my downspout and this was quite difficult. If this piece had been made just a bit smaller it would have been very nice. I had to work very hard to get this together and put a sheet metal screw through the downspout and into the diverter. However, the top piece was made with enough clearance that the downspout slid right into it. Then the assembly was easy and it works really well when it rains. Water goes into my rain barrel and I am looking forward to the off feature. Overall, I really like it.

It also works on 3x4 gutter downspouts too, the top part is not needed. Mark a 3 1/2 section on your gutter and cut it. Its made out of good quality pvc plastic, should last a long time. Seems easy to clean, just make sure to install a downspout guard and clean it frequently during rain season. I hope you find this review helpful.
