LOVE this butter dish! Had been looking for way too long for the perfect dish, and this is nearly it. My perfect dish would be (1) “bowlâ€-type bottom with flat lid rather than flat bottom with “bowlâ€-type lid; (2) square or rectangular in shape (because sticks of butter aren’t round); (3) dishwasher safe; (4) accommodates multiple sticks of butter; (5) ceramic spreader that secures to the bottom of the lid; (6) does all of these things with a deep enough base that the bottom of the lid and spreader it is accommodating won’t get smushed against the butter; (7) does all of those things and isn’t cheap or cheesy looking plastic on the counter. Am I asking too much?!We’ve tried all sorts of butter solutions over the years: traditional dish with top enclosure - butter gets all over the base, then all over the lid, then all over the counter; bowl or ramekin - loved the “bowl†factor with sides so the butter is more contained, but the circular shape is not conducive to logs of butter, and no lid if you want it covered; simple plate with no lid - really the simplest solution we found using a small, square dessert plate, but again, no lid.So this product was a fantastic find. Not the gold mine that my perfect butter dish would be, but it hits most of the marks and is the best I’ve found yet. Here’s how it shapes up to my requirements: (1) bowl-type bottom with flat lid - check! (2) rectangular in shape - check! (4) accommodates multiple sticks of butter - check! (6) deep enough base the the lid doesn’t smush against the butter - check-ish. If you keep a single layer of sticks laying flat and don’t build them up, they will stay away from the lid. (7) doesn’t look cheap and cheesy on the counter - check! And love the color options that were available. In my perfect world, the lid would also be ceramic (dishwasher safe) and incorporate a ceramic knife inside, but alas, I have not yet found this version. So in the meantime this will remain my perfect solution.

Lid closes tightly. The texted sides provide grip. The white color is nice insted of clear so you aren't looking at a dirty dish on the inside as you take butter out. Holds Kerry Gold sized butter perfectly.

It’s super cute! I love the color and pattern. I also like that it doesn’t say butter on it. I have a red one for butter of a different brand but I wanted yellow one for shortening. The lid is more difficult to get off than my other one but at least it doesn’t fall off if you tip it. However the lid doesn’t fit perfectly like the red one. Its a little off center and It’s got a tiny gap between the lid and the dish when all the way closed. It’s not perfect but I like it.

This butter dish is large and beautiful, making it perfect for storing my Amish or Kerrygold butter. What’s even nicer is that it can also be used to store mini baked goods, which adds a little versatility. The seal is tight, ensuring everything stays fresh, and the design looks even prettier in person than I expected! I chose the blue color to add a lovely pop of color to my kitchen, and it really brightens up the space.

I was looking for something similar to my son’s and ran across these. It’s a little different so I am not matching him completely. The weight of the dish is good. It has substance. I love the beautiful teal color! That was the initial attraction because I didn’t want a plain white dish. My Kerrygold wide butter “chunk†fits perfectly in here. The butter stays just the right spreadable consistency. I would definitely buy this again.

Just got this butter dish in navy, and I absolutely love it. The color is beautiful, the lid fits well, the quality is great, and I love that I can fit either 2 sticks of butter, or a bar of Kerrygold. I opted to go with the lid that has no butter knife, because although appealing in concept, I knew my husband would have it all gunked up in no time, and I don't want something else to clean. I'm very pleased with my purchase.Edit: unfortunately, I wrote this review too quickly after receiving the butter dish. The lid doesn't stay on. I reached out to the company, and they sent me a new dish, but its lid doesn't stay on either. The dish is beautiful, but if you need a tight lid, this isn't your dish.

I was looking for a large enough butter dish that would fit the grass-fed butter I buy from Costco, which is a decently large sized rectangle. This dish is not only super cute and the design is modern, but very functional and fits my butter I buy! I use it upside down, as I prefer to cut the butter this way and it’s easier for me personally, but you can use it the original upright way as well. Love it!

I had to shave off the top of the Canadian 1 lb block of butter so the wooden lid with the silicone seal around the edge would insert deep enough to seal the butter tightly so it stays fresh. Otherwise I really like it.

The design is attractive and seems decent quality, but it’s not large enough to take full block of butter. Easy enough to cut it to size, but not what I expected.

The lid was chipped and the seal isn’t tight. Does that comment go against community standards?
