This is a great choice if you need an adapter from a HDMI to a VGA monitor. I hooked it up and it works exactly as expected.Best part about this choice is that it is very simple - many of the HDMI to VGA adapters just provide a female VGA port - and then you need to use a VGA cable to connect it to the monitor. This one eliminates the extra piece (and any bulk associated with it).If you need to go from HDMI to VGA - this is the way to go! I am very happy with this cable.

Appears to be made well of good materials, and thus durable. I didn't notice any delays, and I didn't notice any video degradation. I am happy with it and would definitely order this cord again.

Perhaps I bought the wrong type of cable? It connected beautifully but the TV/monitor never recognized the computer.

If you have a laptop and want to create a second display, you might have an older monitor sitting around that has a VGA input. This is the cable you'll need if it's the blue connector. Word of caution, 3 feet seems like a lot, but unless you plan to connect the monitor on the side of your laptop opposite from the HDMI output port, I recommend going to the 6 foot version.
