Will this work on large snakes such as pythons ?

I keep this with me anytime I'm in the woods or near the water. I have moved several snakes with it so far. Sizes varied from pencil size snakes to 5 foot snakes. Had no issue with any of them. This is a great product. You can actually lock the clamp down so you don't drop your new friend. Only issue I had was the screw that locks the clamp keeps loosening. No issues with use so far though.

These tongs and snake hook work great. We didn't have them out of the package 2 days when we used them to capture a nice little 4 foot diamondback. No injuries no excessive pinching. Both the snake and I are very happily on our way. I don't recommend anyone without experience and knowledge messing with poisonous reptiles. But if you know what you're doing these tools make it a lot easier.

So I attempted to pick up my boa (5ft) and the hook just folded in half . The clamp however does hold up well to my 10+ft berms and retics

These collecting tools are the best for actual specimen collection or learning to collect. It is possible to use them without damaging snakes or any similar animal to collect for study or to simply move them to a safer location, both for people and the snake.

The snake hook and clamp came in on time, looks nice and made well. Got it for my boyfriend for Father's day and haven't gotten to use yet but I definitely believe it will work well for when we come across another slithery friend!

Broke after 4 or 5 uses, thankfully they didn't break during snake handling. Past the return window of course.
