The device did enable a third monitor, however two of my three monitors are HP E221 monitors. One HP monitor is plugged into the device and isn't quite as sharp of an image as the other. This was not a problem on my windows pc which I changed from last week. I think the device just can't handle the same image output as the Mac. It isn't blurry just not as sharp.The other issue was that I had to grant access to what Mac labels as screen recording. I contacted the manufacturer that assured me that the screen was not being recorded but due to the way Mac classifies it, it shows screen recording in the security section.Overall not bad, I keep my calendar pulled up on that screen always so I don't use it exclusively to work, it is just on so I can see my calendar as I need which is several times during the day.I would probably buy again if I needed a third monitor.

If you search for this kind of adapter, there will be dozens of different brands at higher prices that all do the same thing. I chose this one because the price was better than the others, and had decent reviews. I'm using it on a dell optiplex pc to add an extra monitor. I was pleasantly surprised with how well it works. Truly "plug and play". All I did was connect it to the pc and add a new monitor and it worked right away without the need of installing any drivers. I've Been using it for 2 months now without any issues.

I tried several different adapters before this one and none of them worked. This one does the job. At the beginning, it didn't work but after I quitted all the other adapter drivers, this one worked (make sure you do the same if you also installed drivers for other adapters). I use this on my MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015).

At first, I was pleased with the response rate and display quality, which was an issue on the last brand I tried. The screen was scaled larger then my monitor, which was annoying but not a deal breaker. I contacted customer service, and it took a few days to hear back. They tried to have me look into monitor settings, which I had clearly stated I had already done ( I had to provide them with my monitor model so they would believe me that it wasn't an option). The next step was for me to reinstall the driver (and annoying catch all, as I had followed all instructions and had the correct driver), but before I could do that, the unit got warm and froze, never to recover. This was a little over a week later, so at least I can still return it.
