Extend Mode:

Easy to install, I do not like that the driver take the control of all video (maybe this is how it should work,it shuts down itself 2 times in a few weeks, I do not know if it is a standby delay or it is a problem, otherwise is a good device. The specs are not sufficient and I did not have time to dig for other places. It should be good to have the full specs on Amazon.

DisplayLink support was contacted and logs were sent. The support agent said the DL unit reported that no monitor was connected. NOTE: THESE UNITS WILL REPORT THEY'RE NOT WORKING PROPERLY IF NO DISPLAY IS CONNECTED. I use a KVM switch in my setup. By direct connecting the DL unit to the monitor I was able to demonstrate that it worked. I still had a bit of trouble getting it working through the KVM. I was able to get it working though by using a fiber optic HDMi cable from DL unit to the KVM. Possibly the copper HDMI run was too long without the fiber.***Old Review***Spent half of a frustrated day trying to get this device to work. Tested on M1 Mini, M1 MacBook Pro, M2 MacBook Air. On all of these machines the DisplayLink Manager requested that I allow USB accessories. This is not required on Desktops, M1 Mini, and was allowed for both the laptops tested. Under system report all three computers showed the DisplayLink Device (WavLink here) was connected properly to the system. I tested using the 1.10 drive and 1.09 driver with no luck. Subsequent internet searches revealed that DisplayLink is no longer working properly since MacOS 14 Sonoma. I was so excited for this hardware to work that the fact that it is no longer working with MacOS really hurts.

Most laptops carry their own built-in HDMI ports these days, and gaming laptops are of no exception, as I can hook up to large screens with mine. However, I have a portable monitor which is not very common but is a touch screen which I like. Why would I buy a USB to HDMI, though? It is because there are some applications that I love having third screen to make multitasking a bit easier. It kind of sucks that libraries don't supply spare monitors with HDMI ports dangling from them because homework could use both the laptop screen and the monitor screen.The wireless display connection is rather kind of new and hasn't matured yet, so I recommend this product, especially for laptops and for connecting to two external monitors and/or TV's at the same time. It comes with its own driver so no need of installation.

March 15th: Has randomly stopped working again. Do NOT buy this product.Jan 25th Update: 2nd stopped working at random this morning with no changes whatsoever. I'm returning and not giving this product another chance. Appears "StarTech.com USB 3.0 to HDMI Adapter - DisplayLink Certified" does the same thing and I will be giving them a chance as this product must just be built cheap. Good luck guys! *Changed back to 1-star*Dec 2022 Update: The 2nd adapter sent to me has remained working for about 2 months now. Super happy with it (please stay working) - Changing back to 5 StarsReplacement UPDATE 1: Original unit died within 2 weeks and I thought it was ventura 13.0.1 until got a replacement adapter and confirmed it was this unit that died. It works as intended, but I would be ready to ask for a replacement because it seems to die easy. Going to not touch it again and hopefully it'll stay working.ORIGINAL: I've wanted 3 monitors for something but officially apple only supports 3+ on M1 Max and above. Firstly, ignore everyone saying they used this for a second monitor, there's already really simple ways to achieve that that anyone with google can achieve. but to get 3.... it's super tricky. I was about to give up when I read reviews saying to download mac driver on their website? I was ooooaky, and as soon as it download and I approved security to view mac scree, BAM! third one turned on. Good luck! This is the one for 3 extended! NOT MIRRORED, MIRRORED SUCKS

Estou usando com Ubuntu 23.10, instalei o driver e funcionou de primeira. Não tive problemas e por ser USB é esperado que ocorre mais uso de CPU quando a tela dele contém muito conteúdo para renderizar mas nada muito absurdo. Tenho um Dell Vostro 15 3515 com AMD Ryzen 5 3450U with Radeon™ Vega Mobile Gfx × 8. Paguei R$289,00 e demorou cerca de 1 mês e meio pra chegar.

I have an acer swift-314-54-57jc with Ubuntu 20.04 installed. I assumed its USB type-c port has DP support. But unfortunately it is only for data transfer. After I plugged the HDMI cable of monitor to the USB-to-HDMI adapter, it had no input at all. I searched something and found this one which is similar to DisplayLink products but has reasonable price.I doubted it would work on Linux until I searched Wavlink website (Product->USB Display) and found the Drivers list has Linux support (DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Ubuntu5.4.1-EXE.zip). I changed grub to allow Ubuntu to boot into text mode, and installed evdi-dkms and gcc packages before installing its driver. After installation is done, I recovered the grub config to boot into graphic mode. And I can see the second monitor showing the extended desktop. It's a perfect solution to the PC that needs two external monitors but has only one HDMI port and no USB type-c with DP support.

I recently purchased the WAVLINK USB 3.0 to HDMI Video Graphic Adapter for my third monitor, and initially, I was skeptical about its performance. However, I'm pleased to say that this product exceeded my expectations. The picture quality it delivers is comparable to that of my HDMI-connected monitor. If you're considering adding an extra monitor to your setup, I highly recommend giving this adapter a try.
