I bought this opener to replace a similar one I had used for years, but the plastic holding the teeth snapped and it was not reparable. This opener's teeth are so very small and too recessed in the device that they basically scar the jar lids but do not grip enough to actually open the jar lids. As I only need such an opener for very wide lids it is useless to me. The idea that I would drill holes and mount under my cabinet is ludicrous. Definitely not worth the money spent for it. While the handle is comfortable it is not the workhorse my earlier opener was; very disappointed; I will shop for another.

My parents had something similar from one of those home party places. So I wanted one for myself and this is just as good. He kind of have to jam it onto the lid to get it to grab and then get twist it takes a little getting used to but it works every time for me. Even on my honey jars that get stuck.

Highly recommend for opening those difficult jars! I also use it to remove rings from pressure canned jars.
