do not try to use with a mesh wifi system. it will not connect. App will not allow you to choose an existing photo for the background photo within the app. App does not display windchill. but overall, a very good system

I am very happy with the La Crosse weather station with wind, rain, outside temp and inside temp. It connects to the internet and gives you an accurate forecast from Accu weather source. My wind anemometer is 100 feet away and it transmits to the display receiver constantly. It is wonderful and so much better than the other brand I first ordered a couple months ago and could never get it to receive from 1/4 advertised distance. The La Crosse is well worth the money and accurate. Very happy with this purchase. The display must be at eye level to read. I put mine on the wall. The phone app is a bonus.

As a weather station this works great. The sensors connect easily and the connections are reliable. The fact you can add additional weather stations and connect to the one set of sensors is nice. Where I had problems is with the wifi connection. This may be a combination of my newer ASUS routers and the device itself. Ultimately I had to use an older router and setup a separate wifi SSID for the weather station. Once I did that it has stayed connected and the La Crosse android app works well. The app user interface could be made easier to use. Some of the app features do not work and do not match the provided instructions. If you have a new WiFi 6 router and/or ASUS routers be aware you may have connectivity problems.

I bought a La Crosse weather station 5 years ago. It worked fine except the rain gauge quit and the solar charger was not charging and the battery backup did not seem to work on the rain gauge at night. So I replaced it with a new one, twice the cost for some reason.First time buyers should understand that this is a 2.4 Ghz system. Works great from 300+ feet away from the base station panel. Set up takes time and patience. First, if you are replacing an old system, take out the batteries and disconnect from you panel - if the panel is not broken, it is a great second source for another room in your house. When connecting, always get the APP from La Crosse and then put in the batteries and power up the panel. Do all of this with everything near you so you don't have to run in and out to check things are working. Once you get the wifi going and the sensors are showing they are in range and signal strength, you should be good. I had to try 3 or 4 times to get the wifi to work, probably and issue with my dual band router, so I paused the 5Ghz and kept the 2.4Ghz on. When I did this, the system was up and running in 10 minutes. It does take some time for the sensor to communicate with the panel, so be patient. When setting up the APP, name you sensors and location and take a picture of the bar codes so you don't have to go outside and take things down to get a look if needed. By the way, other sensor packages charge for the wifi connections to weather web sites. This one doesn't.The only thing I would like La Crosse to put on their panel is barometric pressure. It helps you understand with low or high pressure cells are coming.

This is the fourth similar weather station I’ve bought, so I have about a thousand bucks into these things so far. That does not make me a casual bystander – I know what to look for and I will start this on a negative note. All of these under four-hundred dollar so-called weather stations are toys. Each has its plusses but each has a load of minuses that are far from trivial. This space is provided to review this model so I won’t go into a lot of details about the other brands and because models change from time to time whatever I say will probably be outdated before long.OUTDATEDSo I’ll start with that word, outdated. Before I do I want to say that I didn’t just point my finger at one in a catalog and randomly select it. I spent weeks choosing this one so I wouldn’t make the same mistakes as I did on the previous three. In the end the very most important thing for me is the indoor display. There isn’t one model on the market that can be called well designed, I’m convinced that the people who design the screen layout have never actually used a weather station. Virtually everything about them is bad – from haphazard placement of the data, to bad typefaces to bad colors to bad viewing angles. I chose this model because of every one of them this is the only one that has some logic to the display screen – I can walk up to it and with one five second glance I can know everything that’s important about what my remote sensors are reporting. Unfortunately, and this is a big unfortunately, they used a cheap obsolete screen technology that can only be viewed from straight on, move your head to the sides or up and down and the screen goes dark. For the price that is inexcusable.QUALITY OF MATERIALSWhen this arrived I thought they had sent me an empty box, the rooftop sensor is feather weight compared to any other brand. But to be fair, there is no rule that says it has to be heavy, and in fact being lightweight helps make installation easier and it probably won’t easily be spun around in the wind. But their included mounting bracket is terrible, it can only be used one way which is to mount it to the top of a flat roof. Fortunately if you ignore the bracket, the body of the unit has a standard mounting hole that slips right over an ordinary one –inch pipe, which I happened to already have installed at the highest point on my roof’s peak, leftover from an old satellite dish. The plastic is pretty thin and time will tell if it eventually just snaps off but for now it’s okay. The moving wind vanes are actually slightly better than most of the other brands and the damper in the rain cup flips open exactly when it should. So overall I will say that despite feeling toylike the rooftop unit isn’t that bad.A GOOD DESIGNMost weather stations put their outdoor temperature sensor inside the rooftop unit, and no matter what kind of solar shield they say they use it is impossible to get an accurate outdoor temperature reading that way. Where I live the entire rooftop unit sits in the open desert sun and it becomes too hot to touch. What this model does is to put that outdoor temperature and humidity sensor in a slim unit that can be mounted anywhere – I mount it out of the sun on the wall of an open covered deck where the temperature and humidity is most likely to be accurately read. As a bonus that unit has a tiny LCD screen to be able to check the readings when I want to.A BAD DESIGNOther than a terrible display screen, the indoor unit could be a lot better. It does have wall mount holes on the back but you won’t want to mount it on the wall because all of the control push buttons are mounted along the top, behind the bezel, where they are out of view and you have to take the thing off the wall every time you want to access a setting, which for me is every day. When mounted on a tabletop the easel stand is backwards from logical, the hinge is at the bottom so a slight touch on the unit will cause the easel stand to collapse.SETUPBy now I’m at the point of saying despite all of its flaws I still love the screen layout (but not the off-angle viewing) and the indoor unit paired with both included outdoor sensors almost instantly. So as a standalone weather station this would be a great buy if it cost about a hundred bucks. But we buy these things for their smart capability and almost every brand needs to be connected to a third-party app to be fully functional and like every other brand, if you read the reviews, the setup procedure seems to have been developed in the dark ages. You need an app just to make the app work with the app. And none of them communicate well with each other and here’s where the real tragedy begins. Unless you want to be barraged with ads the necessary app will cost you a subscription fee. That is not okay with me because I can get that same weather information from several free apps (which usually come built in to modern smart phones) and weather is weather, no app can give you better or worse weather.NOW THE BAD STUFFIf you’re not scared away by now here are two of the nails that sealed the coffin for me.1. The necessary app lists dozens of current weather station brands and models. This model is not listed. So it was probably discontinued already and they are just selling off old stock2. The day I decided to buy this I saved it and came back later to finalize the order and they had jacked it up by FIFTY bucks, then after I bought it the listing said that it was unavailable and they don’t know when, if ever, it will be sold again.YES NO MAYBEHaving the best screen as far as layout of the icons isn’t enough to save this sinking ship. It was far overpriced to begin with, then ridiculously overpriced, now discontinued. It is not supported by the number one weather app and the indoor weather console is fussy to use and hard to read unless you look straight at it. If some of these things were different I could have rated this product as high as five stars but I can’t. In fact I can’t recommend it at all. And that’s too bad, I had a much higher opinion of La Crosse before buying this product.

Purchased for my husband to replace our current station that had been in use for several years. Easy read monitor, kept on kitchen bar for all to enjoy! Lacrosse brand is highly respectable.

This is the second La Crosse weather station I have purchased. Was pleased with the first one. This one is easy to set up after downloading their app. It can be set up manually, too. All functions work as claimed.

I am very unhappy with this thermometer. I have tried many times to get the app to show the outdoor temperature. The only thing that the app displays is the indoor temperature. After many failed attempts at resetting up and clearing to factory, it fails to work. A lot of money spent for a useless app. The whole premise of purchasing this was for online viewing when away from home. This was a total waste of money.

Por el precio, me parece un producto de buena calidad. Sin embargo, para descargar los datos almacenados, requiere de una App, que es de paga. Así que no cumple lo que dice el producto. Sí almacena los datos, pero la descarga no es gratuita.
