I always wanted a weather station, and the price on this was too good to pass up. I'm a science and technology geek with very good mechanical skills, so to me this was a lot of fun. It's been working for me for about 2 years now as of this wriging on Sept 16, 2023. So it's held up well. The insane logic part of this is that the solar panels don't charge the batteries. I have two PTZ cameras that are completely wireless and solar powered, so to me it begs the question: why isn't this designed to charge the batteries from the solar panels? How hard would it have been to create a unit that is fully solar powered? The other part that is strange is the mounting pole is not round, it's oblong. You want to orient the weather station so that it knows where north is, this way you know wind direction. But with the supplied hardware, this means you cannot rotate the unit unless you mount it to a round pole. The mounting hardware it comes with is not equipped for this. It's just another thing that tells you this product is not well thought out, and probably not the best choice for a weather station, but you can get around this issue by buying your own mounting hardware. Here is a quick list of the pros and cons:Pros:-Good quality-The weather sensors connect to a base unit, that connects to your wifi at 2.4 GHz-The base unit is a bright, high quality, easy to read display-You can connect it to two weather websites on the internet and access it directly on any phone or PC-It provides Indoor and Outdoor temperature and humidity, and barometric pressure-It provides wind speed and direction, and rainfall-You can choose the unit of measure for each reading- It can synchronize time using WIFI connection to internet time serversCons:-You have to periodically replace the AA batteries. They don't get recharged by the solar panel.-Installation takes a 2 to 3 hours or more and can be challenging-Finding a suitable location to place it can be difficult, it has to be away from buildings and high enough to have unobstructed wind to have accurate wind direction and windspeed-Setup requires persistence and patience-The supplied mounting hardware does not allow for easy orientation to the northThis weather station connects to a base unit using a radio signal at 433 MHz. The base unit connects to my WiFi system, and updates a web site weathercloud.net. I can also set it up to feed Weather Underground which I will do when I have a more permanent location for it. You don't have to feed data to the internet if you don't want to; that part is optional. The base unit is about the size of a desk clock which is perfect for me. You can even mount it on the wall. The display is laid out nicely with 3 brightness settings. The appearance looks high tech, but very easy to read and I really liked it.The overall quality of the equipment is very good as far as I can tell. I am still playing with this and have it setup in a temporary location. It took around 2 to 3 hours to install. I took the time to familiarize myself with the equipment, and I followed the instructions. The instructions included with the packaging had tiny tiny screen shots of web pages that were barely legible. Fortunately you can download the instructions in a Word document that is much easier to read.I am really glad I bought the system. It's so cool to have my own weather station with scientific instruments collecting weather data. Setting it up was a blast and I had so much fun.

Had this all setup for a few days now and love it so far. I really like the wifi capability and being able to see the reading through the app and can also set it up to upload to wunderground.com. Fairly easy to setup overall, the wifi setup is a little in depth but managable.
