I have been using this lens strap heater almost daily now and it works great. I have been taking Astro photos overnight in bitter cold and no problems.

I just received and tested a pair of these. I wrapped them around a large coffee mug and connected them to a 30,000 mAh powerbank. They were set to “high” and allowed to run for a few hours. The two strips generated great warmth. Not hot at High, but would be adequate to keep a front-element frost-free on a cold night. The power bank was fully charged at the beginning of the run and down to 9% after 7 hours of powering both strips.I would have appreciated a bit more insulation on the outer side of the strip, because it was warm to the touch, so was losing heat unnecessarily. But maybe this helps to warm the ambient air and impede dew formation as well? The controller was easy to use and the USB cord of decent length to reach a power source at the base of a tripod.Very satisfied so far. I’ll be using them tomorrow night to grab the full moon!

You know how when your looking for something whether it will be the right size. Well this fits perfect on SharpStar 94mm refractor and the AR102mm scopes. I like the way its constructed and the nice controller that comes with it. Works great. Highly recommend this Dew Heater strip.

I have been using the MSM dew heater for a time now, enough to give my thoughts about its performance. It is well constructed, nothing has pulled apart or broken, and is durable. The heater is narrow, to not obstruct focus on my camera lenses and long enough for larger aperture telescopes to at least 80mm, for smaller lenses, it does overlap. The overlap thickness did interfere with my lens dovetail sometimes. The heater has a very long cord, the heat controller is on the second half of the cord. For many of my setups, I omitted the second half and just used the cord without the heat controller. One advantage of not using the heat controller was I did not have to turn on the heater, it just came on when I supplied power, I can control the on/off power from a power distributor with a wireless remote control. I wish the strap were more elastic to fit snugger around my lenses, my other dew heaters all have elastic.Much of my imaging is in the desert so not much dew there. At home closer to the coast, his dew heater is barely warm at maximum heat and dew did form on cold humid nights. Another brand of USB heater I had worked OK. I recommend this, it depends on your setup and conditions, but for my camera and telescope lenses with tracker or equatorial mounts, no.

Using this lens warmer for astrophotography directly on the lens removed the dew issue for me. Easy to set-up and use with a small battery pack of the proper amp rating. I use this with a small camera tracking mount and was well pleased with the ease of use. The three heat settings help as it allows me to tailor the heat to the evening. It's also big enough to use with my 80mm refractor if needed, so a two for one.

I use the MSM on my astrophotography lenses, mainly 20mm and 14mm at the moment. Nights in coastal Nova Scotia can get damp, misty, chilly and almost impossible to deal with, when it comes to fogged-up lenses. I was constantly wiping mine with a lens cloth but that left droplets and streaks. Enter the MSM Lens Warmer! It is truly a game-changer. No more cloudy-looking images. I connected mine to a small 20W battery charger, the kind you can use with a cellphone. Inexpensive and lasted all night with charge left in it. So this is a very portable system and has a long USB cord as well. You can set the heater High-Middle-Low and I use Middle for my lenses. Maybe in midwinter I'd go to High but our climate is fairly mild. Nova Scotia is a foggy province, more than a snowy one! At a High setting, I might have experienced somewhat shorter battery life but it's hard to say.Highly recommend.

Excellent used it for first time last night on camera lens when the dew built up on tripod my lens kept free from fogging up.On high setting takes around a minute to get hot then set to medium which worked perfectly to keep lens clear, even stops dew build up on lens body & camera body very pleased.😀

This is a well made and cheap solution to lens misting. I use my one on my camera lens, but the band is long enough to fit a much larger lens. I use a powerbank to power it up and out of over an hour's use, it only used 11% with the lens remaining mist free for the whole session. Really happy with it.
