There was included 2 other colors to try to fit your decor, but the white was what I needed and used. The 4 for installation was only because my wiring was hard to work with in the cramped space I had to work with. Nothing against the product, I would recommend that you have an electrician install if you are not used to house electrical repairs.

Like it great, but opened box and the depth prevented me to install. Builder used side entry of box to introduce conduit pipe thread lip and screw ring took up side depth. I had 2 other switches in this box on separate circuit and fan (single) on another circuit. Other issue electrian used this box as a junction for other lines (limited space). Solution, Installed in another box that had a single in gang box no crowding. Works great. My fault for not checking but I did’t want to pull until changing.

I have a 52" Hunter ceiling fan (similar to https://www.amazon.com/Hunter-53091-Builder-Fan-Brazilian/dp/B00DF4ICX0) in my bedroom and recently rewired it so that the wall switch has separate light and fan controls. I have been on a hunt to find a ceiling fan speed controller that has good settings. I originally bought this fan speed controller because I thought it looked better, more discrete. But I was unhappy with the speed settings on this controller. The high was like hurricane force and the medium was too slow. The low setting was like nothing. This controller may work well for ceiling fans that move more air, but not mine.Really the only thing I like about this controller is the looks. If you are like me and want a fan speed controller that has better medium-high speed settings, go look at my review on the Leviton RTF01-10Z (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003AU1RM2).

Just bought this house and the previous owners had a ceiling fan wired to a dimmer. The fan hummed like a colony of angry bees when turned down low. Swapped in this correct fan speed control and all is well now.

Our ceiling fan is too high to reach without a chair or ladder to stand on. Installed this for single pole switch and it solved our problem very well. I could see it not solving the issue of reversing fan direction but that is not an option on our fan so not a problem.
