I have to crush two pills for my dog every meal, one is larger than a quarter And the other is a normal pill size but also thick. I was using my fingers to break them up before and then when that couldn't get it small enough. I was using scissors to cut it down. I tried putting them in a plastic bag and smashing them with the hammer, I tried a different screw down pill crusher. Nothing worked very well, this thing works like a charm and gets the job done very quickly. Since this is the only thing I use it for, I'm not worried about the pills or the leftover dust getting impregnated into anything else and it works really well and crushes everything down very very quickly and easily. I strongly recommend this to anybody who asked you to crush pills more than once a day.

This thing crushed my dogs hard pills to dust in a twist. I love it. It is not only functional but beautiful. Substantial in weight.The price is definitely worth it. Better than the cheaper ones I have bought in the past. The pestle is very large and you wont be messing around with trying to get it on the pill. It crushes it with ease.This will be the last one I ever buy.

I liked the size of the pestle and the concept of the bowl shaped mortar which is supposed to be easier to use.I mainly purchased it to crush whole peppercorns, however, peppercorns are probably the only thing it won’t crush. Because they are round, they act like ball bearings against the pestle and the pestle just rolls around on them.Nevertheless, the mortar and pestle are very nice, weighty, decent size for small portion grinding, and it’s made of nice material.

This does a great job of crushing pills. The fact that the two sides are the same size makes so it is really easy to capture a round pill. And the two hemispheres are a very close match to the result is a nice fine powder.What i don't like about it, and it would be easy to add, is a spout-like indentation for pouring out the crushed contents without any spilling where it should not. For spices, this does not matter, but for pills the measured dosage is important and you don't want to miss any of it.The marble is soft (for a stone) and i will probably add my own spout with a diamond bit and a dremel.

This mortar and pestle is the perfect size for my small kitchen. Easy to use. Simply apply pressure and rotate the pestle to grind or crush. Cleans easily.

The mortar and pestle is a good-ish tool. The bowl and head have just enough texture to grip material to make grinding easier and the width of the pestle head does make the act easier. But the handle on the Pestle is too short, and a poor shape. Using the pestle for longer than 5 minutes causes pain in my hand and wrist.
