Just received this pole pruner. I’m very happy with its power and ease of use. Used tue hand pruner to clean up yard tree debris and then attached to the pole to trim branches overhanging my roof. It has much power. May need to keep in place to pull trigger second or third time to cut large diameter branches. Make sure you are steady on ladder for far reach, as I was. Wish I had a tool like this years ago. Battery not even one bar drained after 30 minutes of hard work. This is well worth the money.

As I am getting older, I feel the need to purchase some gardening tools to adapt to gradual physical limitations. Since I do a lot of pruning (at home and at a public garden where I volunteer), I wanted battery powered pruning shears. I selected this one because it offered a powerful battery and could be connected to an extendable pole. I've used it a few times and can state that it does the job nicely. It cuts through 1/2" branches easily. Thicker branches (roughly 1") may have required a second or even a third trigger pull (depending on the type of wood), but they came down. I have been able to cut branches 10-12 feet above. Also, by adjusting the angle to 90 degrees, I can cut low growth without having to bend over. The only downside is the weight, which for now I can handle just fine.

Great tool, easy to use especially if you have arthritis in the hands; weight is good battery lasts while, makes pruning so much easier!

I have been impressed with this pruner for its ability to shear off limbs that my hand pruner won't cut. This pruner will even go through hardwoods and with the extention pole will help you clear volunteer trees out of your shrubs very easily. The pole makes it easy to reach the base of the bush or tree so there is no bending down to get to the base of the bush or tree. The pruner gets a little warm with repeated, sequential use but that is not problematic. It never ran out of power or got weak. It is just working hard. The best way to tell if it will cut a branch is to insert the branch into the bottom of the blades closest to the machine. If the branch fits it will get cut = just pull the trigger. The blades are replaceable and if you have the equipment and/or skills they can be resharpened.I did contact customer service via email regarding a noobie question and they responded within 24 hours.One caveat: if you go off Amazon there is a scam website masquerading as MZK tools. It advertises this tool for $59.95 with free shipping. Don't fall for it - it is a scam. If you're gullible it will take your PayPal or whatever information and your money and I doubt you'll ever see the tool or your money ever again. As Isaac Asimov once said, "I don't subscribe to the thesis, 'Let the buyer beware,' I prefer the disregarded one that goes, 'Let the seller be honest.' In conclusion, stay on Amazon to buy this tool - avoid off-site scammers, and don't let your small children play with this tool.

I was pleased with the strength of the cutting and the battery life. I own a cherry orchard and use it to cut branches and suckers. Cherry is a hard wood so I was concerned that this tool would be able to cut the wood. It had no problem cutting through 3/4 inch branches. I thought I would need to recharge the battery to get through my orchard but it has lasted a long time.Originally, this pruner was great. After three months the cutting mechanism broke. I have tried on multiple occasions to get in contact with the manufacturer and have heard nothing. No response at all! They give you a customer contact email address but nobody responds. It might be a good product for a little while but if you have a problem and get no service it becomes a marginal product at best.UPDATE: I was able to get in touch with customer service and they quickly resolved my problem.

I’ve had this unit for eight weeks. I have used it five times on my azalea bushes. Yesterday in the middle of a job it just quit working. Period. Going to attempt through Amazon or someone to either get it repaired, replaced, or refunded. While it was working, it did a great job. Now there is absolutely no life in it whatsoever even though the battery is fully charged. No sound, no hums, no clicks, nothing. Nuts . I hope there is something that can be done so I can get back to work with this unit! Help!Days later: Absolutely impossible to find useful contact information customer service online! Only site(If you can find it) did not work. Sort of a you cant get there from here!. Not even any information on the device, itself! Frustrating! A loss? NO! Amazon customer service to the rescue! Even though the short return window had closed! Amazon made it right! Good tool, usually, but no customer service is a deal breaker for me. Just saying...

Due to its capacity to expand up to 12 feet, it enabled me to reach even the tallest trees and the tallest hedges, removing the need for heavy ladders or extending in a dangerous manner. The telescopic pole gave me a feeling of control and stability, which built confidence in me with each cut that I made. It felt solid and well-balanced in my hands. In spite of this, the cordless and battery-powered design of this pruner is what really sets it apart from others. The days of struggling with wires that get tangled or being attached to a power source are long gone at this point. The rechargeable battery pack that was included in the package provided a sufficient amount of runtime, which enabled me to complete even the most intensive pruning jobs without any interruptions. To put it another way, when the battery did ultimately run out of juice, all it took was a quick recharge to get me back into action.
