I’ve been using this head for the past few weeks and overall I like it but there are some issues. I’ve been using it with my Canon 200-800 and R7 and 500mm f/4 and R8. The 500mm f/4 is right at the weight limit so my expectations are tempered there but I experience the same issues with the 200-800 rig which is well within the published weight capacity spec. The issue is that when using the head as a monogimbal “side saddle” the camera mount plate can go past the horizontal position making tilting the rig to have a lot of drag, even when the tension knob is at the loosest setting. I’ve also had some slippage issues with the knob in its tightest position. It doesn’t make the head useless but it does impact the overall user experience in a negative way.I have also struggled sometimes when I’m trying to tilt the camera and the head starts to move to the “ball head orientation”. It would be nice if there was a locking mechanism to keep the head in the “side saddle” orientation.I do find the ability of the head to go into the “ball head orientation” to be really convenient when I’m mounting the lens to the head. I also really like how compact and light the head is. Having said that, I wouldn’t mind a little more bulk and weight to avoid the issues I’ve noticed.

This thing is strong, a bit heavy, and smooth! I'd trust my bigger mirrorless setups on it without hesitation. It's super smooth when moving the camera, the knobs are very comfortable and can tighten down easily along with dialing in just the right amount of drag. I absolutely love this head and am very happy with it on my slider, monopod, or even tripod. Neewer is such a solid filmmaking company!

I like Neewer products in general, I have purchased a few other items in the past and they have always been good for their price point.I purchased 2 of these gimbal heads to use on a support bar with 3/8-16 on each end. The issue I'm having is that in the side saddle position BOTH of these gimbals can be rotated even when fully tightened down. The top of the head where the plate is can still rotate even when the big knob is as tight as it will go. In the standard or 45 degree angles the head is tight and will not move.So if you are trying to use this with a camera, telescope or anything that is heavier at one end this will slip and not hold.IF you plan on using it with a light camera that is well balanced it MIGHT hold that, there is a little bit of grip when tightened but I can turn is by hand when the big knob is fully tightened.I don't know if this is a quality control issue?? I bought 2 of them and BOTH are slipping or if this is just a design flaw since at other angles it holds as intended.BEWARE if you plan on using this in sidesaddle orientation with a long lens you might have issues with camera creep.disappointed because I love the design and Neewer has never failed me in the past.

Ordered this for my IFootage Monopod and Sony 200-600mm lens combination. On my tripod, I have several great heads to use, but the monopod has been more difficult...until now.The lens attaches easily with the head having the arca grooves built right in. The lens hangs to the side but still up close to the base unit. You won't notice the positioning after using it for awhile. You can adjust the head so your lens is dead center above your monopod, but I found it much easier on the side. Now I have a super light carry setup. With this head attached to the monopod, it easily fits in the monopods carry bag with a few inches to spare. The head works very well, in a gimbal sort of way. It's buttery smooth in every direction, and can be given any resistance you wish to dial in. I like to keep my lens 'loosey goosey' for speed as I use one hand to rest on the top of the lens for more precise control. If I need to swing about in a hurry, I don't want resistance to do that. Once there, my hand weight will take over for stability. The fit and finish is top notch, with both round knobs (different sizes) being solid with great fine knurling for a solid grip every time.I think this head is worth every penny, and it is not leaving my monopod ever...or until I buy something else (cough).Really enjoy using this for birding...highly recommended.

Muy ligero y pequeño, pero funciona muy bien, lo utilizo con Nikon 500/ 5,6, utilizándolo siempre de costado, como si fuera un gimball y funciona muy bien.
