The rectangular shape lets you smooth and sharpen straight surfaces. 2 square edges allow you to make grooves fixed at the same width as the file, and all sizes taper slightly in width to improve access in slots.

Great file to use on any project after finishing is almost done. Your scan use it to remove coarse file marks and then proceed to polishing. Nothing else works as well.

My only complaint is it showed up with rust on it but I can deal with that no worries does what I need it for cuts great I use it to sharpen card scrapers in the shop so no biggie actually a good product!

These are not as good as the old USA made Nicholson "Black Diamond" files. I am disappointed that they moved manufacturing offshore. These will be used for softer materials only and I will save my best files for the tougher jobs.
