The file sharpens chain very well. Has lasted good so far after multiple uses with no evident wear to the tool.

Seeing saws pull huge chips cutting with square ground chain I ordered this file to try my hand at changing a chain to square ground. Well im more gifted at round file sharpening and this file works great as a raker file LOL

It seems okay, I haven't used it yet.Update, the file is sharp and cuts well, worth the 13-ish dollars.

Not worth saving a couple dollars to have file not even sharpen 1/2 a 32†chain before getting dull. Does not hold up well to touching up a chisel saw chain, and that’s what it’s for. I run Stihl chain so maybe it would hold up a little better on softer Oregon chain but I will go back to ordering from Madsen’s.
