Works great. I bought it to test new Cat 8 bulk cable that I added RJ45 I connectors to. Dislikes - NONE!

If you're working on Camera or Ethernet cables you must have this cable checker. Worth its weight in gold for checking if the cable is put together properly. Worked great on my build where we assembled over 100 camera cables. Immediately identified cables that were good and those that were not assembled correctly. Recommend

Worked great identified problem with ethernet cable with precision first showed what cables were.crossed and then which cable came loose while I was manhandling the connector. Can reference which number on the tool refers to which color coded wire on the cable with a schematic on a quick google search

Seriously, if you use Cat 5, 6, or 7 IP cables, either manufactured or hand-made, you need this device. I found store-bought cables which had issues with them. And I always check my work when I put the ends on them to be sure that my work is right. Better than that, this little baby saved me hours of time when I was moving equipment from one room to another and had to get the 12 IP cables into the right machines. Simply put the side-car on one end of a cable and plug the main part of the device to the other end and it lights up when you have the right two ends! Perfect if you're doing residential jobs where the IP cables are seldom labeled. You can get more expensive ones, but this one does everything you need and the price is right. Worth every penny and more!

Gets the job done with much better accuracy than the one it replaced.

The tool identified an open wire in my newly built cable, so I gave the RJ-45s a bit more crimp. Oops, now it was 4 open! I learned that I was crimping too hard and damaging the connector. I cut the damaged connectors off and eased up the crimping pressure for the replacements. Now everything is good. The tester saved me time and improved my technique in the process. Recommended.
