Great gift for my 9 year old. He has found all types of metal in our backyard. It seems to do a great job at locating metal and it's very easy to use. I love the little tools that it came with. The tools are actually nice quality and sturdy. Highly recommend for a first time young metal detector.

Christmas gift for my 10 year old. He loves it! Easy for him to put together. It works great! He has found several "treasures" already. Definitely works. Love the accessories it came with. My 7 year old also got one. It's the perfect size for both, because it is adjustable.

Great product!!! Works extremely well and is the perfect size for kids & even taller preteens! I bought this for my 12 year old son who is 5'10" for reference. The handle is adjustable and was the perfect size for him on the longest setting. Metal detection is literally spot on! We used this while exploring an old ghost town in Iowa that was once a mining town and we uncovered a huge metal pipe in the ground overgrown with weeds- likely used for oxygen in the mines once upon a time. Nonetheless, it was super cool!! And it definitely would have gone unnoticed if we hadn't had this with us!My only reasoning for not giving it 5 stars is because of assembly. The instructions you get are in every language, besides English. You do get a very small picture of assembly but there's one part that was hard to figure out and would have been helpful had we had instructions in English to explain. Turns out, the little cord inside that plugs into the top, was actually sent to us deformed and we could not get the 2 pieces to plug into each other at first because of it being deformed. I had to shave away some of the rubber that was over the prongs in order to get the 2 pieces to fit together properly and hold. These 2 pieces are essential because it's how the battery connects to the bottom of the metal detector. So because of the construction of that piece, I docked a star. Once I fixed the problem, we were up and running though ðŸ‘🼠so be aware of this while assembling if your pieces don't fit together like mine.Came with a plastic claw and shovel for digging which aren't that durable, but ok for kids & much safer too.Some tips:You have to hold the button down for 3 seconds for it to turn on. Press once to turn off.When you're getting close to something metal, it starts to beep fast.When you're right over it, it's a slower steady beeping sound.When you're moving away from detection, it starts going really fast again to notify you to move back to the slower steady beep.All in all it's a great first time metal detector! It's easy to use, great value for the price, has good battery life and it works effectively! Just needs more careful construction and more detailed instructions in the most common speaking language. Definitely recommend!

I thought this was going to be flimsy based on the photos but it is actually really nice! Cannot wait to use it in the summer! We had fun using this in the house to find studs in the wall. Love the tools it comes with for digging up treasures you may find! Cannot wait to take this to the park and use in the sand volleyball pit and grass!

We bought this for my 9 year old who loves metal detecting. She isn't quite ready for a full grown metal detector so we started here. It's been absolutely perfect. It's light weight, comfortable for her to hold, and she's been endlessly in our backyard finding old nails and scrap metal. She used it in the rain and it's held up and still working. It isn't as high speed as a full metal detector but it does ding for any metal she finds. It was well worth the price for her to explore this hobby more.

This has been a lot of fun to use at the beach. We go down a few times a week and he always grabs it. It’s the prefect size for him - he’s 8. He has found a couple of (cheap) rings and a couple of coins plus a lot of beer bottle caps - come on, people. Ha! Battery seems to last a long while!Keep in mind it’s for kids and not super accurate. It doesn’t detect very much unless it’s right at the surface. Sometimes it beeps and there is nothing there. BUT for a kid and the purpose, it has worked. I would just view it as more of a toy.

Perfect for kids! Easy use for our 5-8 year olds. Don't be fooled by the 'kid' interface, absolutely legitimate metal detector.We've been able to use it in water, accurate, easy to use and worth picking up. Your tiny human will appreciate this and be able to use to it's full extent easily.

I successfully found my wedding ring in my back yard with this, but I can't vouch for its effectiveness. It does work in some capacity, but If you plan using it more than once, I would spend a little more and get something of higher quality. Make sure to read the instructions because it is not as intuitive as it may seem.
