I've only used it a few times but in those few times, it has made me a lot of money. It's not a necessity per say but for the price...it's a no brainer.

I have a number of cars with knuckle castings that pinch the round strut body, and this Orion Motor Tech Strut Spreader Tool goes right in the little gap, after you've removed the pinch bolt, and opens up the knuckle pinch just enough so it slides right off the strut body, no hammering needed. It's very durable and well made of good materials. Orion needed to make this 30 years ago.

Works for what it’s designed to do, anodized blue does start to wear off, but doesn’t effect the tool’s functionality

Used to do a coilover install on a vw passat. This tool made the job a breeze and easily opened up the knuckle pinch point.

Very sturdy little tool, at first i was skeptical about it, i thought it would easily break but no, it is very sturdy and solid, don't hesitate to purchase it, it makes the job way easier.

I was kind of skeptical that this tool would be able to do the job. Did my forward suspension not too long ago and it was an ease to use and made things go a lot faster for me

it was easy to remove strut from steering knuckle with this tool releasing some of the clamping force. just a few swings of a ratchet makes a great difference with removing strut.
