I found that after a rain here the surface of my pool gets filled with small flies (1-2mm size). My regular net wont remove them so I purchased and tested this one. The pole is 4 pieces of aluminum that fit together easily (and well) with the net on the top (bottom). Its about 6 feet long and fairly sturdy (I havent had any problem yet). Because of the very fine mesh, you have to skim a little more delicately to prevent a bow-wave. However, with some care it does skim very small insects and tiny pieces of floating plant material that are unlikely to be pulled into the pool filter intakes and will not be removed with a normal pool skimmer.EDIT: The mesh started tearing after about a year rendering it useless.

We have a terrible sediment in our water that sinks to the bottom of the pool. Mix in the dust, sand, dirt, leaves, etc that get into the pool make it a gross mess. It’s a 15’ round pool with which I use no filter and other than a floater for chlorine etc, all I use is a skimmer making it the most important tool to keep it clean. With this one my pool sparkles. This is the best skimmer I have ever used. It's mesh is tight with tiny holes more like cheesecloth instead of netting with larger openings. This gives you the ability to push through the water and actually catch all of the leaves, dirt, and even the tiniest particles of dust, sand and sediment. Previously I have had to empty the pool, clean it, then refill it and it still would have the sediment from the water in it. Since using this skimmer I didn't have to empty the pool at all.This skimmer does take a little more effort pulling it through the water because if the resistance of the cloth being so dense, but not bad. I use it as an exercise walking in circles in the pool swooshing the skimmer to the right and left like oars. So it's multipurpose skimmer and workout equipment! Lol! The multiple sections of the pole make it easy to adjust the length to fit the size of the person using it and the size of the pool. Bottom line is I love it. It is a great value, shipping was perfect and prompt, it came in in perfect condition, and it does more than it's job!

I really like this , it works great and I definitely recommend it. Doesn't bend and break (if used properly) even then you can go pretty quickly with this skimmer it's absolutely recommend

Needed something to clean the leaves and debris from our fountain and this did the trick! Super easy to assemble, strong construction, lightweight, and big net. Good price too!

This is a nice product. Light weight but it comes at a price. The handle is thin aluminum and after a few uses pulling leaves out of the pond, we noticed that one of the handle extensions was bent. Eventually it broke. Now it’s shorter. If you want to pull one leaf out at a time or skim the top of the water it’s good. If you want a little more “heftâ€, you may want to try something else.

I bought 2 from Walmart and they broke within less than 30 days. This one was a few dollars more, but worth it. I love the quality, I love how fine the net is, I love that the pole is adjustable in size, and it gets everything out of my pool. Works well. And out preformed all the others I've tried this year.
