In order to avoid leaving your handgun unsecured in your car (or to avoid a ticket for violating safe storage laws) get one of these. For daily storage for range trips, work that is not 2A friendly, shopping, or anywhere you may be where handguns are prohibited or discouraged, this is a very good option.

I ordered this pistol safe just to keep as a secondary security option. I intended to put this box safe inside of a large locked area. I think that would be it's best use. That is because, for one, any would be thief would just pick it up and take it with them. It may be a good option as a safe to deter children, but I would say only very small children. I think the way the combination is set up, older children that get bored, would likely guess the combination, if they know their parents very well. Additionally, it isn't very strong. This could easily be broken into by most, when determined.As long as you keep all of this in mind, and keep this safe inside a stronger one, if you use it for anything very valuable or dangerous, then it will work for you. It just depends on what you need it for, I guess. I recommend it for non dangerous, low value items, if it is accessible.

FIRST IMPRESSIONThis safe is large enough to fit a full-size handgun along with a magazine - which is a great plus for those with larger firearms. The inside is lined with soft padding, providing extra protection to prevent your firearm from getting scratched or damaged while stored. It has a three-digit combination lock, using numbers 0-9. To open the safe, simply set each dial to the correct code, turn the knob, and the safe unlocks.CHANGING THE CODE & CODE SECURITYChanging the code for this safe is easy. Start by unlocking it with the default code "000." Inside the safe, you will find a lever that needs to be moved from position "A" to position "B" to enable code setting. Once in position "B," you can select your new three-digit combination. After setting your code, return the lever to position "A" to lock in your new combination.While this provides a basic level of security, a three-digit code only offers 1,000 possible combinations -which would not stop someone with enough time and determination from accessing the contents of the safe.*****Even the one-page user guide notes that if you forget your code, you could guess the correct combination in 20 minutes or less by cycling through the numbers sequentially.SECURITY CABLEIt is nice to have a security cable included, approximately 2 feet long, allowing you to attach the safe to an immovable object. For additional mounting options, the safe also has two small holes on the back, which let you affix it to a surface with included screws that are about one inch long for a more permanent solution.OVERVIEWThis safe is solid and easy-to-use for securing your firearm. This safe does the job of keeping unauthorized people from easily accessing its contents. It is a little on the heavier side, so probably not best for travel if weight is a concern.

Not fancy or complicated but it is effective and safe. Just a simple combo-roller, locking mechanism that can keep a toddler or curious kid from getting their hands on your gun. I like the additional steel cable so that the safe can be fastened down to prevent easy theft too. A "minimal" type of a security device that does the job.

This little box is stouter than I expected for the price, and is simple to set up with your own three digit combo and attach it to a large, sturdy piece of furniture in your home, vehicle or hotel room.raised metal edge guides on the long ends of the bottom half help guide the top to a securely and properly aligned closure, and help resist break-in.Crinkle-finish coating resist scratches and corrosion, and looks decent too.Good for keeping your phone and stuff safe in your car or truck while at the beach, or while staying in hotels while traveling.
