I wish I could give more than five stars for this wonderful product. I replaced the worn out lock in my mailbox with this replacement lock. For the first time that I can remember, an off-brand replacement part was not just superior to the original part, but vastly superior. The mailbox locked cover lid for the mail receptacle was always loose when closed and locked even when new. But with the new lock it now fits perfectly tight. The replacement lock is much more difficult to pick. And the company includes five different cams for whatever size is needed. Delivery was the next day after ordering and installation is simple. I highly recommend this product.

We have community mail boxes and I always thought the postal service was responsible for maintaining them. We dealt with a weak and then broken lock for quite some time before I learned the lock was my responsibility. Bought this lock and had the old one replaced in about 3 minutes. Comes with several sizes and shapes depending on the type of box you have, and I expect you could find at least one that would work for just about any installation. Great value.

Prime-Line S 4140 Mailbox Lock performs as advertised. It popped right in with no difficulty. All my negative comments are related to MY mailbox and aren't really the fault of the mailbox lock. With that, let's dig in. So as I said, it installed quite easily. Used a channelock wrench to pull out the retaining click and used the handle of the wrench to push in the new clip (because I was too lazy to get a hammer). This lock unlocks counterclockwise and my old one unlocked clockwise. I'll just have to get used to that. I also had to remove and rotate the arm to get the lock/unlock to be positioned correctly. Although multiple arms were provided, none were exactly the right size. I ended up adding a pair of small .25" felt pads to hold the mailbox door the right distance in the closed position so the lock arm would swing into position perfectly without having me to jiggle the door to make it align with the mailbox lock slot. As I look at the other locks on the mailboxes near mine, I noticed that all the other locks had a keyhole cover. This lock does not. While a keyhole cover would be nice, our mailboxes are covered so it probably won't get rained on so for me, it probably isn't an issue. Hopefully no bugs will think the keyhole is a nice looking home... Now we'll see how well it holds up over time to determine if this was a good purchase or not.

If you lost your mailbox key and only way is the replace the lock then this lock is for you. All you need is a drill corded or battery powered and a 1/2” drill bit. Mailbox lock is very easy to drill out and this lock came with several sizes of locking tongues or you can reuse your existing one. I replaced my mailbox lock in less than 10 minutes.

None of the 4 lock options fit my standard outdoor mailbox. I had to use the one I replaced that I lost the key to. All of the 4 locks are too short. Beware, and compare to your existing lock if this is a replacement.

It was just a plug and play. I was always told that mailbox locks are only supplied and installed by Canada Post at a high price. Fix by owner at a reasonable cost. Thank you for help.
